Removing apps with titanium backup problem
« on: January 26, 2020, 05:51:58 pm »
Hi.
I am now with a rooted android. But I am trying to remove gemini keyboard with titanium backup. Titanium reports that it was uninstalled succesfully. But the app still remains in my cosmo. I have from my gemini  an apk that I generated with corrected accents from brazilian keyboard. That was the reason I am trying to uninstall gemini keyboard and install my new gemini keyboard  apk that I have. In gemini everything worked fine. Can someone please help me.? Thanks

Same here (with all system apps), and I do not have solution yet.

I tried it also from terminal, "mount -o rw,remount /", delete the apps, reboot, apps are back

then I tried from adb shell "setenforce 0", remount system rw, delete app, reboot, apps are back again

There is some sort of protection mechanism. I think deleting them from some externally running system must work, so probably if I run TWRP, mount the system partition and delete them, this must work.

Yep, removing system apps with file manager in TWRP works, I just de-googled the Cosmo.

OK . Thank you so much.
Did you install twrp on a recovery partition or in a separate partition ( I think it is not  possible  ) ? ( If you have already  repartitioned the cosmo ).
I think I will have to remove twrp in order to install debian, when it is available. ( Restore the original recovery image : There is an option to install another OS. ).
I am not an expert.
What about adb shell in recovery mode ?

Thank you again.

Thank you again.

I placed TWRP in the recovery partition replacing original recovery. On Gemini I had TWRP, Sailfish and Android, but of course you will need to repartition once installing debian, so you will also reinstall recovery. But you will be able to chose either original or TWRP.
I do not know if adb shell in recovery mode would work to remove system apps, in theory it should. But TWRP is so useful tool that I would not hesitate to install it anyway

Unfortunately adb shell didn't work on recovery mode.
What version of twrp did you use ?
I think I will wait to planet release one , so I can install it on boot 2 partition ( empty_recovery_boot_2 ).

Works for me, although it does seem to convert them to user apps which you can remove manually using the normal procedure....

After reinstalling android ( factory reset ), everything works fine.
Thank you so much again.
