phosh on Gemian
« on: February 17, 2021, 05:54:44 am »
Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has installed phosh (phone shell) on their Cosmo Communicator?

It's used by the mobian project (https://mobian-project.org/) and is developed by Purism for the Librem5.

The apps for phone and SMS seem a lot more developed that those on Gemian and maybe we could re-use some of this good work on the pinephone/librem5 on the Cosmo?

I'm not exactly sure where to start with porting mobian to the Cosmo, but if anyone has an idea or has installed any of those GTK packages, I'd be most interested to hear about it.
Cheers, iain

It may be possible but Mobian uses bullseye (Debian 11) code base and gemian is based on Debian buster (debian 10).

PureOS the original version of Debian phosh was created on from Librem is based on buster so might be worth a try.

thanks for the comment Mibry.

Anyone got any ideas how to start to tackle such a task?
