changed my battery now with video
« on: December 10, 2024, 02:39:58 pm »
After a couple of years , I changed my cell phone  battery. My astro was powering off with 25% of charge. The new battery is only 3150 mah but slim sufficient to fit astro. It is cameron sino brand . This battery charge lasts more  than the  original one, believe me. Photos could not be attached here . Message : The attachments upload  directory is not writable. I 've contacted the administrator and I have not got any solution up to now. So I decided to put a link of a video here : https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Kfc60a0QzMA

To remove the cover use your fingernails in the gap  between the black part and the blue hardcover. Slide and move your fingernails through the entire edge. And force a little bit to remove it. Use the same controller of the original battery in the new battery. ( This was done by a technician who soldered the controller to the new battery ) . I   have asked the administrator to attach photos here. Link to video again: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Kfc60a0QzMA

Which cameron sino 3150 mAh battery? There's more than one model...

I think by "controller" you mean the battery protection board, right?. The battery charge controller is probably on the Astro Slide PCB.

Yes. Used the part that was on the original battery in the new battery.

My Astro battery has now started dying. It seems easy enough to find your replacement.

How does the actual installation go? Is soldering required?

Ok, darn. I guess I'll be investing in a spot welder. There seems to be cheap ones on Amazon.
