while trying to change the default shell to bash, i some how changed the root  user name to Root.   :cry:  i found a post from Stubear about switching to single user mode, and was able to switch it back.

i think his post would make a good how-to.   one thing, i did different was to do a reset, instead of taking the battery out.  it was still a pain to get into. took a couple of times to get it to work.  this was on the 6000L model, so they did not change it.

the great thing about the ZUG How To Docs section is that it\'s a wiki... so any registered user can create this how to page.

i added a  wiki page for Run Levels under the Developing section.  correct any mistakes you find.  

instructions for run level 3 booting came from Foxdie

i got it boot to run level 1 on a reboot, so i used that instead of a reset or taking the battery out.  that is a the safer way.  it is still hit and miss to get it to work, thou.
