Who has been able to get Stratagus (WarCraft2) to work?

Stratagus is not compiled for a particular ROM. It doesn\'t directly care about qtopia, qt-embedded etc. If you have SDL that is working, stratagus should work too. Theoretically it is not necessary even to compile it for pdaXrom -- you just need SDL that uses X instead of qt-embedded.

ThC, on pdaXrom you used different SDL library. I guess the one for qt-embedded has some problems.

I understand that ... but how can the same sdl lib which worked for someone else with a different qt-based rom / Zaurus not be working with my qt-based rom /Zaurus ? may it be a kernel related problem ?

SL-C860?!?  Someone got it to work ont he SL-C860?!?  Which ROM were you using?  Did you have to do something to tweak it?

jagrka, I gave stratagus root privledges and it still froze up the first time I clicked on a peon... hard reboot.  Booting up now...

tip, I would guess that since stratagus crashed in the middle of a save, the save file is corrupted... which is why it won\'t load up.

jagrka, I\'ll compare you list to mine and see if there\'s a difference that might explain my problems.  Thanks.

Thanks everyone for your help... we\'ll figure this out!  (It might end up being a \"well DUH!\", but at least we\'ll know and future players will know as well...)

ThC, I think you\'re on to something here... maybe I\'m using a different version of the SDL than the one this was compiled for.

Who out there have Zaurus porting/compiling abilities?  Can someone try compiling Stratagus for SL-C860 QTopia with the latest SDL & LUA libraries?

I\'m still having the same problem, stratagus freezing when selecting a unit, I\'ve tried with \"Invasion - Battle of Survivant\" http://www.nongnu.org/stratagus-bos/ witch is another dataset for stratagus and i\'ve got exactly the same problem, I can select an harvester, but when i click on another thing it freezes......

This makes me think that the problem isn\'t in the data.wc2 or data.bos directories......

TonyOlsen, That\'s what I\'m actually trying to do ... installed zgcc on my zaurus, compiled latest sdl libs but it wont work as the zgcc toolkit for zaurus stands in a cramfs image so sdl installer can\'t write sdl dev libs in it then lua wouldn\'t compile because it won\'t find SDL  any1 knows were I can find a zgcc image with sdl dev libs inside ? (or how to tweak the cramfs I already have ? ) ...

I did it!!!!!!

know it works on my SL-C750 with cacko\'s 1.21a!!!
It was\'nt a ROM issue but a library issue.

I unistalled libSDL_1.2.6-zports_c7x0-2_arm.ipk and installed version libsdl_1.2.5-slzaurus20031201_arm.ipk and know it rocks!!!!!

I finished the first human mission without any freeze!

I also run \"Invasion - Battle of Survivant\" without freezz (but getting Qtopia\'s memory error messages ignoring it, i have a 60M swapfile...)
