This is my first post, so hello everyone.
I\'ve had a new C860 for about 6-8 weeks now. By using the search on this forum I\'ve been able to solve my own problems ... until now
I bought a Pretec CF 802.11b card yesterday for my Z. I am trying to connect to an ASUS Digimatrix XP box which has built in wifi on a mini pci card.
I have done the following
1. inserted card in Z - light blinks
2. used network software which comes with Cacko rom (1.21b)
3. added a wireless lan service on the Z using ESS-ID \"any\"
attempted to connect. card flashes and appears to be attempting connection but after a while the connection fails.
4. added the following from another post (by maslovsy) to /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf
card \"Pretec CompactWLAN Card 802.11b\"
manfid 0x0156, 0x0002
bind \"prism2_cs\"
This didn\'t help.
The card is setup on XP using the ASUS utility as ...
SoftAP with internet connection sharing and firewall enabled. SSID = any, channel = 1.
The only other thing I can think of is that in the Digimatrix BIOS, it had settings for \"Radio\" .... US, Europe and a handful of others (I\'m in Australia ... not listed in the bios) The Digimatrix also has a built-in AM/FM tuner so I\'m not sure what the settings relate to.
Sorry for the long post. Hope someone can help.
