OZ 3.5.x
« on: July 01, 2004, 09:41:55 am »
Right now my Zaurus is dead on the water with a need for a new ROM flash. I've been thinking of going back to TKC v1 but if it looks like 3.5 will be out soon I'll wait.

You can check the status at the OpenEmbedded wiki, the page is called OzTODO3.5.1. The issues listed there are quite serious although I have no idea how difficult they are to fix. I flashed the current sources last Tuesday and the pen calibration issue was really bad but fixable (initially the settings are way, way off but they can be calibrated with the provided tools). Also, there was a font rendering problem - most glyphs had dotted left edges. And, of course, pressing the Home key crashed Opie.

Like I said, I don't know how hard this is to fix but I re-flashed 3.3.6-pre1 after about an hour. Can't do much testing without a spare machine I'm afraid...

Where is OZ 3.3.6pre1 now anyhow? I have it installed, been happy with it, but I need to reflash it and I can't find it anywhere on the site anymore. Where is it hidden?

Note that that version is for the 5600, so go up a directory or two and choose your particular device from here:
