Wep encryption and other eventual bug
« on: August 24, 2004, 09:16:11 am »
Dear Friends,

I got a Trendnet TEW 222CF wifi CF, and a Linksys usb adapter (in my desktop) ... both have same WEP KEY (104 bits) and I confirm on the zaurus side, by doing iwconfig that, although the key is the correct one, my transmission is 100% Invalid Crypt packages...

So, wep is not working ... either on desktop or on zaurus ... any hint or comments ?

Also I got a PHAROS CF MODEM ... I can't make it work yet ... I am yet to get the correct device string to place in ppp config... as I put /dev/ttys3 and when trying to connect I get that such string is not recognized. Any Hints ? (right now I am trying to determine if Kathrin named differently the serial ports)

Also I noticed that if the modem is plugged in, and the c860 is rebooted, I cannot get the "Login" prompt, as the cursor gets freezed in the screen. This changes in the moment I unplug the modem ... I suspect that somehow, Kathrin is trying to send the Login to that "serial" port instead of the screen...

I am investigating all this, and learning a bit while doing it  but I thought it would be interesting to post it here...

Enrique.
