i just downloaded the package from sourceforge AND IT WORKS. with the exception that the resource files did not get copied over. can you please send them to me? i know you do not support this, but sending the resource files shouldn't be such a problem if it is all that is necessary to use a great application.

The missing resource and configfiles are not your problem.
Ka/Pi creates them on demand if they are missing and stores them at the appropriate place.
Even if you can start Ka/Pi you can not use it because you can not load and store the adressbook because the libraries can not be found.
As zautrix already said, the version on sourceforge does not work with pdaXRom. You need a special version that we do'nt provide (search the forums for pdaxrom and ka/pi)
