Mouse Behaviour RC2/3
« on: September 10, 2004, 10:30:40 am »
I must be missing something but the mouse behaviour on RC2/3 is driving me to distraction. Tapping the screen appears to be left click, holding on screen appears to be right click.

This is making it very hard for me to drag windows in vncviewer. Is there a way to stop this behaviour. Id prefer to be able to assign some unused keyboard buttons to the mouse.

This bothers me too. It's annoying when I try to grab the slider in the package manager, I can move it 'till 2-3 sec then it stops. I think this is because of this new mouse behaviour. Can sombody please tell us how to disable this function? Maybe we should bugreport it...

Running xmonobut (in the original feed, I think) allows you to set the "mouse" using the menu key. It can also be added to the panel and set by clicking the icon. You have to restart X before you can add it to the panel. This seems to undo some of the difficulties mentioned.

I still have a problem with the sensitivity, as similar touches sometimes trigger it and sometimes don't. Also, the fact that a tap moves the pointer doesn't always mean that a click has been registered as well.

After some digging around I found a patch someone wrote for tslib to give it this behaviour. But without the source code of pdaXrom I have no idea if this patch was in the build. If it is I hope someone removes it as its irritating as hell. I far prefer using xmonobut to swap mouse buttons.

I would say I also prefer to use xmonobut than to use the delay control right click
