OZ-OPIE 3.5.1 Sync Connection Alert on SL5500
« on: September 22, 2004, 06:34:39 pm »
I flashed my SL5500 with OZ-OPIE 3.5.1. I set up "networking" and "security" on my Z so that my Z and my w2k PC can talk to each other and can sync using Intellisync/Outlook via USB. Basically this is working.

When I start syncing, my Z comes up with a dialogue box saying:
"An unauthorized system is requesting access to this device. You chose IntelliSync so you may allow or deny this connection".

This dialogue box comes up for about 15 times until sync is finished. Every single time I have to tap on "allow" button to get sync to finish, which means that I have to tap "allow" 15 times. How can I fix this?

Another problem is that I am getting kind of a timeshift on my Z after syncing calendar.  For example, I enter an appointment for 14:00 in Outlook. After syncing this appointment shows up for 12:00 on my Z. Timezone on my Z is set to Berlin.

Any ideas?

Frank

[edit - have just re-read original post and I see that I'm wrong - the warnings are on the Z...]

I think you're striking the Outlook "Object Guard Model" (http://www.outlookcode.com/d/sec.htm)

I think there's an updated version of Intellisync available for download from Intellisync that works around this.

Hope this helps,

Jeremy.

I have just flashed OZ 3.5.1 and cannot use the Intellisync from the version 3.10 Sharp rom. I installed the old intellisync and when I try to syncronize I get the few "unauthorized system" errors, then intellisync says it doesn't match the version on the zaurus and quits.

How did you achieve this?. Most of the people, including me, could not sync w2k and the ir poodles(SL5600).  I know that you connected SL5500 but I thougt  that  we might catch some points?
Thanks

I am using SL5500 with "Intellisync for SL Version 1.43G" which came with my SL5500 on CD (ROM v2.36G or so).

The following line fixes "wrong version" complaints from Intelliysync:
Code: [Select]
mkdir /home/root/systeminfo && echo "1.13" >/home/root/systeminfo/linkver
How can I get rid of the "unauthorized system" messages and the timeshift problem mentioned above?

Umm, I didn't do anything special. But I think there are some major differences between OZ-OPIE image for 5500 and OZ-OPIE image for 5600.

Thanks Franky, I switched back to the OZ 3.2 because of not being able to sync. Maybe now I can keep 3.5.1
