Xpdf loads fine, but when I try to open a file the app closes.

Any ideas?

but in rc5 XPDF run much faster than in rc3. I had 5 MB pdf with lot of graphic and text and on rc3 opening it took forever dont even mention about reading it and changing pages - reloading of one page took 2-3 min. Now I can read it. Reloading is about 20-25 sec.

I've found Xpdf buggy, slow, and lacking in features compared to qpdf2. For example, its view-as-text mode makes pdfs much faster and more readable on a handheld screen. What about switching rather than spending time trying to get Xpdf marginally stable?

I'd second the vote for qpdf2. What would it take to get this ported over?

I agree again, xpdf is the one sticking point of the new rom...  I liked qpdf2 pdf - txt option, very snazzy!   It seems that xpdf lets me open certain pdfs that qpdf2....   When i run xpdf from the terminal it complains about a lack of certain fonts...
