RC9 ipkg upgrade problems.
« on: February 07, 2005, 07:10:57 am »
Hi Laze,

- I did the update with - ;-) I call it RC9.1 - two days ago ... but now have problems exiting X with the menu exit ... there's now dialog "yes / no" comming up ... only be able to exit X with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace ...

Maybe it has nothing to do with RC9.1 ... because I updated (without X) "ipkg update" and "ipkg upgrade" ... also installed some packages from stable and unstable feed ...

- Now I will do some other testing, maybe I will flash again ... without any updates and doing some testing!

- What about this error displayed at boot time with "dmesg" ... cramfs? ... see below

- sometimes system-cf/sd-applet sometimes crashing?

- I'll have a maybe - simple / stupid - question about the apps on system-icon area right on taskbar ... How do I get the menu with "add / remove / hide" dialog"? Is there a shortcut and how to tab on the screen ... I'm little bit confused about the right "click" ;-)

- Am I wrong that there should be a /var/log/messages in new RC9 / RC9.1?

Any other responses about RC9.1 full flash?

Thanks for your great work until now :-)
Martin

Wrong place to post - i moved your post and please try an entire new flash.

Most of the errors are related to flashspace problems.
C760 running pdaXrom lastest ;-)
SL5500 Running Cacko Qtopia
512 MB SD Card, 128 MB CF Card, Prism2 CF Wlan.

Always visit http://www.pdaXrom.org for latest news.

ok ... but I thought it was a direct reply to the upgraded RC9.1 ...

Maybe there was a problem of updating with "ipkg update" and "ipkg upgrade" while running out of temp space (but I work with root only part 121MB) ... now I have error messages while booting ... while chicking fs ... same stuff with readonly filesystem ... Inode bla bla bla ;-)

I use stabe and unstable feed ... maybe some apps pkg in unstable feed?

Now it works again ... I flashed RC9.1 again ... two times ...
- first time it went wrong because of a damaged initrd.bin (with size 0) ... but there was no errormessage flashing this file :-( is it possible to give a errormessage from updater.sh ?
- second now only with "ipkg upgrade" from stable feed ...
!!! sorry my mistake ... after reboot it won't work anymore ... same problems ... CF/SD applet crashing (on taping on it) ... could not exit X with "Quit" only using Ctrl-Alt-Backspace :-(

What are these messages (see ->>>) about?

There is an other error message comming online on console (not on dmesg)

--------------

What about this error messages (see =>>> )?

While upgrading "ipkg upgrade" I saw some notes about removing / installing glib2_2.6.1-1 and gtk2_2.6.1 ...

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot
