Installing them to CF doesn\'t make any difference as your 32Mb of RAM disk is separate from the 32Mb of \'RAM\' memory (other than them surviving a hard reset that is).
Just to be clear. So the memory for running programs (RAM Memory) will not be used by the memory for loading in programs then (RAM disk) ??
Is this true? What does \'mount\' in the terminal tell you? /mnt/cf/ should be there somewhere (in fact you should be able to look at /mnt/cf/ in the filemanager). If not I\'d recommend a reboot to begin with to see whether you can fix it easily.
I just can\'t find any directories that are on the CF. I wasn\'t sure where to find them. from what you are saying the CF may be found in the \'mnt\' directory.
I ought to say that my SL5500 is a Christmas present from my wife , so I just managed to get file transfer working with a Serial cable (from my NT Laptop) and a quick try out of some apllications before I gave it to her to wrap up for me :-(

I have installed the program itself onto both the CF and Internal memory but it doesn\'t make any difference. Do I have to do a soft reset or something?
What was the program? It has probably installed okay, but may be command line only etc
I was referring to the File Manager application
Welcome to the club,
Thanks. Looking forward to it. Have seen lots of stuff on the Net. Am thinking already of loading on the OZ Rom over the Chritsmas period but perhaps I should walk before I run !!
