You need hardware key mappings:
http://externe.net/zaurus/modules.php?op=m...order=0&thold=0

next challenge: cross compiling dgen and running zpce the same way.

but i want snes9x to work
I'm trying to run znester through zemu on my SL-6000 and the directional keys are reversed?  Is yours like that?  How are you running it?

I have been using  OpenEmbedded to build Openzaurus roms that can uses either GPE and OPIE...I even used the build system to create my own distribution based on openzaurus-3.5.1...

OPIE is almost ready for a realise while GPE still needs some work before most people will be able to uses it....though with either I have been able to pull most ipks from teh openzaurus feed and uses them...a few segfault but most work...

So with a few more people work on OpenEmbedded, OPIE, GPE, and or PdaXrom we would have lots of stuff work for the SL-6000...

I am right now enjoying the fact I can choice between Opera, Konqueror,, or Firefox as a webbrowser and, opie-mail, OM/PI, and thunderbird for email...

I have my roms in /mnt/card/roms/znester/

so in /home/Qtpalmtop/bin I have a script for example Dkong.sh as follows

#!/bin/sh

export S9XKEYS=27,100,99,115,120,97,122,13,32,103,106,117,110,121,98,105,109
export S9XKEYS=27,290,291,292,294,293,122,13,32,103,106,117,110,121,98,105,109
export SDL_ROTATION_QTE=0
export SDL_ROTATION_SDL=0
znester /mnt/card/roms/znester/DonkeyKong.nes

Don't know how to fix it with zemu but this script works to fix the keys

Also don't know how to make it bigger on the screen

Obviously you need a new script for each rom.

You made 2 mistakes copying the script: the octrope (#) means the line is a comment (an old version exactly) and shouldn't be used, and the script is for snes9x :-)

Maybe someone familiar with znester can help you. I'm more on the genesis/turbographx 16 kind :0)

mostly linux, also sometimes I have needed to change the .desktop files.

Some of the apps are ony 320X240 and those take a while to change the screen size when you load them. Don't know how to fix that.

Don't know anything about messing with the GUI so I guess that I really haven't had to.
If you use the Sharp rom on the 6000, you can edit the appications .desktop file and add this line to get it to show at normal resolution:
Display=640x480/144dpi,480x640/144dpi

Afaik that one has no WiFi. The 6000W has. If no wireless anyway, I'd better pick the clamshell one. The 6000 is 15 cm long

The 6000L (from Amazon) has WiFi but no Bluetooth.  The 6000W has WiFi and Bluetooth (only available in Japan).  The 6000N has neither.

Amazon jut raised thier price and now thow in a $5 SD card

SD is so cheap now that it isn't worth buying anything less than a 512MB

I would think better deals will come from Ebay in the near future as those whogot them for the lower price, decide to sell them (although I am sutre most will keep thiers, there is always buyers regret....ort we can hope !)

State of support:

http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/5438.html

I was refering to "state of support" in ZUG and the like.

Sharp never supported thier products when they "Officially" were 1000% percent behind them.  (It was more like 1000 miles behind them).

Losing Sharp support is llike losing a Pocket PC....no big loss.

Heck, at least half of us are running clamshells that were NEVER supported by Sharp in US (or anywhere but Japan) and are quite happy.

I just want to make sure I will be equally happy with the 6000L.  At today's prices it seems almost silly NOT to buy one....I think they will sell out in US and we will only have Japan market with approx $800-$1000 price tag.  So even though I plan to keep my C860, having a 6000L while the price is soooooo nice is very tempting.    Not as good as the old price (that only lasted a few days), but still very nice.....even some reasonable prices on Ebay as well.

My guess is that less than a month from now, many of us will be wishing we snagged one while they were "liquidating" the US market.  All that will be left is a trickle on EBay at pre-liquidation prices.

Now if only the Sleds would come down to $50 or so...then we would be kicking !!!!

Skoorb,

going back to one of your early postings on this thread, did you have to do anything special to have Kino2 working on the SL-6000L.

I just installed it and it doesn't work. I don't get any errors during installation or when I launch it. When I try to open a movie through the "Open" command in the "File" menu nothing happen, the player stays there doing apparently nothing... The files are MPEG1 encoded.

I have had the SL-6000L only for few days, I don't have many additional programs installed, so I don't think it is a conflict somewhere.

Just in case, this is what I have installed. All of them work:

Backgammon
Freenote
Hancom Presenter
Opie-reader
Qpdf2
Qpe Filemanager
Qpe Terminal

Any hint?

Thanks, Paolo.
