Um, what evidence?

Yes it has a USB port, but that doesn't mean it is a USB host. I haven't seen any news on this and Conics' features page only states 'USB port', not USB host.

2. USB Host
USB Host Check

The "news" never mentioned it because they didn't know. I guess the USB Host feature got "lost in translation". All the news sites seemed to have been a cut n' paste or link to the same story. It's not like anyone here in the US has had any hands-on time with the C3000.

FWIW, there was already clear indication of the C3000's USB host capability since the first screencaps were posted.

It seems as if most people have missed or ignored the fact that the C3000 has USB host...

Does anyone know if the USB host feature will support a hub and multiple USB devices?

I noticed in one of the conics photos that the USB host test in the service menus said it was doing a "USB HUB" test.  However, the host capability itself could be referred to internally as a "hub" (owing, I believe, to the USB architecture).

Has anyone with a 6000 tried this (I would assume the 3000 supports at least the 6000's level of functionality)?

Also, does anyone know which USB standard it supports?  1.1?  2.0?

Yes it will. I use a four port hub and it works.

Ohhh, I just had an idea! Wouldn't it be cool to hack one of those mini USB hubs to plug directly into the zaurus? It could be a bar with 2-4 full-size USB ports. It would be like a mini docking station for the Zaurus. The only downside is that the hub would need external power. A good solution for that would be to use an external battery, or modify the hub so that it could be powered simultaneously by the Z's charging cable.

Will this USB keychain with Wifi adapter work on the Zaurus's with USB host ?
Thsi would be a great prodyct to have - USB disk plus wifi - we dont have to buy a wifi Card seperately.
Plus added benefit is it works with USB 2.0 as well as 1.1.

Point of course being with the drivers - these come with auto-installing drivers for Windows, so someone has to get their hands messy trying to get this to work.

But with the latest crop of usb host Zaurii, these peripherals could add value to the zaurus.

The Buffalo WLI-U2-KG54-AI 802.11g USB Keychain adapter is not also a USB disk; they only say it is "USB flash-key styled". IMO, it is probably not worth the hassle of hacking this adapter to work with Linux when there are so many similar USB WiFi adapters available. Tom's Networking even mentions some at the end of the Buffalo WLI-U2-KG54-AI review (link)
