Opie-Mediaplayer2 won\'t play anything
« on: December 30, 2003, 03:25:56 am »
Running OZ3.3.5 on C860 with Opie-Mediaplayer2 1.0.3 installed, libmadplugin and libmpeg2plugin installed (tried without these as well, made no difference). Running it from the command line with an mp3 file gets me this (gui complaints have been removed):

Code: [Select]
QuickLauncher invoked as: opieplayer2

load_plugins: failed to load audio output plugin

Strangely enough, if I run the same thing without capturing the output, the length gets reported as \"0:-1\" when I try to play the file...

Use libxine1 from 3.3.6-pre (oz.org/official/experimental) which fixes the oss problem.

So it did. Now I can play mp3:s... at double speed.  8)
I\'m sure I read something about that very problem somewhere on one of the forums, but I can\'t seem to find it now - been searching for an hour!

Also, isn\'t MediaPlayer2 supposed to be able to play .mod files? I\'ve installed the opie-modplugin 2.0.2 package but that doesn\'t help, it still says \"can\'t find a demux for this media\" or something...

its opieplayer (version 1), that can play mod files, as well as mp3\'s and such. It uses the plugins.
op1 is still being maintained, and is very useful, and requires less memory to operate.

Then I should probably get v1 since v2 is, so far, useless. MP3s play double speed, other formats don\'t play at all (haven\'t tried ogg since I don\'t have any files). Video just makes v2 terminate with a SIGSEGV code, both in the GUI and from the command line.

Any hints on where v1 can be found? Looked at the OZ feeds and the Opie pages/feeds, can\'t find it anywhere... I\'m assuming you\'re not talking about OpiePlayer2 (OP2)?
