I have a Linksys WCF-12 which works fine. I think the majority will work, might be better to ask which ones don't work (if any).

Si

P.S. We really do need a hardware compatibility list (with notes) for all the ROMs...

Why? As long as the card works w/ hostap, it should work with any ROM out there.
It's Linux after all.

I use a Ambicom WL1100C.  I originally used the DLink DCF-660W and that one crapped out after a couple of months.  I read online that others had the same problem.  Actually, what happens is initially it connects ok, then after a few minutes, very little or no signal, even when i am 2 feet away and in line of site.

So far the Ambicom is working great.

I've had the worst luck with the Linksys WiFi WCF-12 cards.  I've only been able to get a few months use out of the two I've had, although I've dropped my 5500 too many times to excuse it from being part of the problem.  I have tried both faulty cards in my laptop... and they don't work.

Ugh.

I'm using Socket Symbol.  it was a bit weird under OZ 3.2 (until i got all the configs fixed), but it works great under all other roms and it excels under coredump's 3.5.2!  I use it for accessing SMB shares of a win2k computer, access the net from the 2k computer and do some wireless sniffing with wellenreiter and kismet.  Works great for me and seems to do everything i ask it to.  Â£25 off ebay, absolute bargain imho!

My Netgear MA-701 works flawlessly with both OZ and the Sharp ROM, for the record.

reviving an old post:

I'm thinking of buying a wifi card. I didn't see here any reference to the Sandisk connectplus (which is popular on ebay nowadays). Besides the problem of working the ide and the wifi simultenusly (which afaik was not resolved):
are there any other problems with this device?
will it work out of the box?
any other wifi cards that are compatible with OZ i should consider?

thanx,
YoG.

I've got a SanDisk ConnectPlus 128M, and it has been a bit... tricky.
Still not resolved the wifi + storage at the same time issue.
It is necessary to load the firmware everytime it is inserted and after suspend-resume cycle.
But, after that it works very very well, and it has very low consumption.
Unfortunately, the casing is very fragile and it has broken at both narrow sides of the card where the thick antenna+led box joins the CF-shape rest of card.

I've got also a Sitecom WL-007, that works out of the box, and is strongly built, but its antenna+led box is too much wide and big, so much that pen hole stays hidden and you cannot take it out without exracting card before.
In addition, it is a very hungry card and eats up all battery power in less than a hour.

My two cents,
Rafael Godinez.
