Opie-backgammon
« on: December 21, 2004, 06:49:10 pm »
I have installed opie-backgammon, and the program runs but no screen is visible, when I try some of the menu items it bombs.

Any suggestions

That's a bug that has been reported. I haven't had any luck with it myself, although I will tinker some more with it over the holidays.

I have rebuilt the backgammon ipk for oz3.5.2

I replaced the bin, pics and plugins directories in the opie-backgammon_1.1.7-r0-arm.ipk with the ones from a backgammon_1.0.3_arm.ipk because the pics and the binary were missing from it. I have tested it and found it to work in both my 5500 and 5600 with oz3.5.2. It can be installed with the gui or the command line because it still has the original control file and I didn't change the name. You can only tell the difference by the size... the one that works is 200KB. If you already have it installed you must use the –force-overwrite option.

I'm sorry, but I don't know how to submit a patch to OE for the missing pieces?

Greg

I will attach it here

The ipk has been removed, please use the one in the upgrade feed.

Thanks. Note please though that we won't accept binaries for the feed. The OZ philosophy is to build everything in the feeds from source to have a sane set of dependencies, libraries, and overall maintenance effort. We gladly accept patches against our .bb files via oe@handhelds.org

Thanks for your report. I've fixed the bug in OE and an updated package is available from the upgrade feed.

That's great! I will remove the other one if possible to prevent any mix up.

Mickey fixed and added phalanx in the last release for my chess game and now you have already fixed and added backgammon.

Thanks to both of you, (and all of the OE team) for everything!
