Can you check if the http://community.zaurus.com/ server is down or only I cannot see it from my network. Is there any mirror of this server?

Cxx0 General discussions / 25 MB partition / 96 MB free on TKC ROM - How?
« on: January 18, 2004, 03:13:55 am »
2devnull, I said only that I have installed WLAN cards without problems. As far as general performance is concerned it is too short time to say something. In general it is pretty fast. Now I am fighting with Ambicom Bluetooth card. Looking for applet for Qtopia (the best for existing Network program). I don\'t like to turn in on/off using commands. I saw it in cacko qtopia, but for tkROM it requires to add something.

2devnull,
I understand you have installed
1) zImage.bin  from Wireless_preemp_cache_on.rar
2) initrd[1].bin-tkrom-2.5.1-slc7x0
3) where did you get updater from?
Can\'t find proper sharp updater.

2devnull, I tried to repeat what you have written here on my C860 but I failed. Either I am doing something wrong or you did not write something in you last message. Could, you, please write step by step what you did to get tkROM,

General Discussion / Thanks for the GREAT site!
« on: January 16, 2004, 04:14:46 am »
I also  appreciate your great work. I bought my c860 at XMas but by now the support from a dealer is not very enthusiastic. Due to advices I received here I was able to start control this beautifil toy (ROM flashing, formatting, etc)  without being frightened. This site is really the best HELP for Zaurus user.
Everyday I learn more from here. Good luck for future.

2devnul,
unfortunately I experienced the same white screen , but I also did not clear the user partition.

Richard,
for installation I used two files:
updater.sh-slc860
initrd[1].bin-tkrom-2.5.1-slc7x0

z Image is in the third file zimage (which is not for c860)
which kernel to load for c860?

What system did you prepare it for? Sharp/Cacko Qt, Cacko X11, OZ or tkROM? Is it fine for c860?

General Discussion / tkROM on SL-C860
« on: January 13, 2004, 03:58:37 pm »
I have tried to install tkROM (initrd[1].bin-tkrom-2.2.1-slc8x0 and updater.sh-slc860) to my SL-C860 from the page:
http://community.zaurus.com/project/showfi...&release_id=291
after installation I saw startup sceen and then time setting without any data. Could not type anything. Could not do anything. Hanged up.

Did I make something wrong or this system in spite of its description does not work on SL-C860?

2devnull,
Yes, I am. I had troubles while installing tkROM on 25/96 partition after Cacko repartitioning made me using Richard\'s suggestion. I used updater.sh-slc860  and  initrd[1].bin-tkrom-2.5.1-slc7x0

« on: January 12, 2004, 02:39:42 pm »
What a Bluetooth CF card do you recommend? What are the most important parameter to check? Can you please give me advice what is worth to buy? I need a Bluetooth CF to connect from SL-C860 to Sony Ericsson T610.

General Discussion / tkROM for SL-c860 (7x0)
« on: January 11, 2004, 12:20:51 pm »
I wanted to install tkrom on my SL-C860

I found only two files:
   initrd[1].bin-tkrom-2.2.1-slc8x0
   updater.sh-slc860

Is zImage not necessary for SL-C7x0 and SL-C860?

Does the power adaptor have the same output as the rignal Japanese one ?
Regulated 5 volts and  1.0 amps.).
Yes, it does.

Assuming it does and is working correctly then should get the same results.

Also, not done a scientific analysis of the matter or anything, but the battery indicator on the Zaurus is not the best. All my units do show a full battery for at least a little while after chargeing fully though (3 large batteries used in various devices).
So, do I have to charge untill the battery indicator (LED) is off, or watch software indicator? Every time charging takes about 4 hours. I am afraid of overcharging the battery.

I am using an international power adapter from Dynamism.com (240 V) and the battery EA-BL08 (1700 mA). I am a bit confused since every time I charge the battery it takes ve..ery long time. To be sure I keep it until a LED switches off. In spite of that the battery is partly charged (even 70%) it takes 4 hour or more.
