Cxx0 General discussions / Carrying case for the C860
« on: September 28, 2004, 06:54:27 am »
I bought a camera case from Japan (Yodobashi Camera) that I think works very well.  The manufacturer is "COMSTYLE", and their big selling point is their "DUAL GUARD SYSTEM".  They also make notebook covers as well.  Basically they have a neoprene style black material in dual densities - a harder external shell, and a softer internal lining.  It's black, has a good sized flap secured with velcro, has a belt loop and even a little internal pouch for a spare CF memory or wireless card.  The size of the one I have fits the c860 perfectly, and provides excellent protection.  I don't know if these cases are marketed outside of Japan, but there must be similar cases around...

General Discussion / IRK v0.11
« on: September 19, 2004, 02:38:59 am »
Hi, just picked up a Targus wireless keyboard for my c860.

I'm running the tkcrom (v2.something) - and I seem unable to install IRK.  Using version 0.11 and 0.10, installing leads to the screen filling up with the launch icon for a couple of minutes, then exiting to the set date/time page -> then IRK seems not to be anywhere.

Any ideas?

Accessories / corega cf wifi + c860
« on: December 26, 2003, 02:28:05 am »
Can anybody help with setting up this card?

Corega is a big wireless accessory company in Japan (seems they dominate the market along with Buffalo).  They have a nice \'n slim CF wireless card, the WLCF-11.  On the box, it even says something like \"Compatible with Zaurus A300 & c760 - drivers available on website\" (in Japanese, of course).  It seems to be based on the Prism 2 chipset.  It\'s comparable in price to the Buffalo and a few others on the market here (PQI, IO etc.).

So, I bought it.

It turns out that the website doesn\'t have the driver, but an apology instead.  First they said a driver would be out by the end of December - now they say it will be the end of January.

This is what I\'ve done to try and get it working:-

C860 with tkrom 2.5.1 + javaBoys kernal
-] put in CF card
-] green light comes on CF card, but is constant (ie. not blinking)
-] nothing pops up in the toolbar/bottom right corner.
-] nothing picked up on the Network setup
-] check with cardctl ident...

Socket 0:
   product info: \"corega\", \"WLCFL-11\", \"ISL377300P\", \"RevA\"
   manfid: 0xc00f, 0x0000
   function:  6 (network)
Socket 1:
   no product info available

There is an entry for the card in wlan-ng.conf, which doesn\'t include the manfid data, and I had a slightly different layout for the card name (?did proto put this in - I did send an email to request this - if you did, proto, thanks!  ).  I edited this to reflect the cardctl indent information...

Card \"Corega WLCFL-11\"
Version \"corega\", \"WLCFL-11\", \"ISL37300P\" and \"RevA\"
manfid: 0xc00f, 0x0000
Bind \"prism2_cs\"

Nothing has happened.

Any ideas?

I\'m right at the point of trading this in for a Buffalo - it may be bigger, but at least it looks like it\'ll work...

Thanks,
Lee

Software / ebook reader & c7x0/8x0

thanks yz!  it\'s such a simple solution, i feel even more stupid than usual!

Konsole sounds like the way to go, once upon a time I used to use the CLI on the ol\' Amiga 500 quite a lot, but those days are long behind me - and at this point I find the Linux file system quite puzzling -] a file manager is the easy way out...

A.  I get the impression from reading various posts and seeing some screen shots that opie-reader and justreader will give a landscaped 640x480 output on the c7x0/c8x0 series machines.

1.  Is this true?
2.  If so, how is this done?

B.  Has anybody used tKexplorer?  Any comments on this or other file managers?

C.  Any other recommended c7x0/c8x0 software people would care to mention?

Thanks
Lee
