ebook reader & c7x0/8x0
« on: December 21, 2003, 11:37:03 am »
A.  I get the impression from reading various posts and seeing some screen shots that opie-reader and justreader will give a landscaped 640x480 output on the c7x0/c8x0 series machines.

1.  Is this true?
2.  If so, how is this done?

B.  Has anybody used tKexplorer?  Any comments on this or other file managers?

C.  Any other recommended c7x0/c8x0 software people would care to mention?

Thanks
Lee

Both Opie Reader and justreader work fine in landscaped 640x480. Click and hold on the icon, and turn off unset the \"use magnified...\" option, and they should be fine. Just a note on Justreader, set up all your options the way you like them before you switch to 640x480. Going into options while in 640x480 will show you a truncated options screen.

I like them both, but use Justreader more mainly because Opiereader doesnt support screen colours (cant change it from black on white, and I like white on black).

As for file explorer, I just use the Advanced File manager that was packaged with the old TKCRom Apps package. Proto probably has a better version available on his feed for the new c7x0 TKCrom v2.5.1.  Personally, I use the konsole most often to do file manipulation, but that\'s just me.

thanks yz!  it\'s such a simple solution, i feel even more stupid than usual!

Konsole sounds like the way to go, once upon a time I used to use the CLI on the ol\' Amiga 500 quite a lot, but those days are long behind me - and at this point I find the Linux file system quite puzzling -] a file manager is the easy way out...
