Back to Windows applications....Try Photoshop...

I recently toyed around with making my own screen saver icons and wall paper for my Z...I\'ve done some manipulation to get certain file formats into other programs to then convert to the file format I\'ve needed....

Photoshop allows you to do many things to change your picture, add what you need, it is done in a layer format, and then save your file as a *.png format and get the right size taht your need.

Let me know if I can help....

File-]New Menu expands to the right, at the bottom of the menu you\'ll see the \"Outlook Data File\" (I\'m running Outlook XP)

or try this in Outlook....

From the Tools menu in Outlook-]Options-]choose the Mail Setup Tab, click on the Data Button (mid screen), click on the Add button-]Personal Folders file(*.pst) will show on next screen, Click OK and then if you choose you may name the file (not necessary default name will work), The next window will ask you to name the folder (Guest Folder works) then click close and then OK to return you to your main screen. Your personal folder will show up in your Folder list...

Then highlight the Personal folder.  Add a new calendar to that folder...File-]New-]Folder (give folder name i.e. import Calendar) and in the second box Choose Calendar from the drop down list, the default choice is a Mail folder. The calendar will appear in the Personal folder.

Open the calendar and then File-]Import and Export follow the directions in the wizard and then see what happens....

I am running Palm Desktop and Outlook on my machine at home.

What I would probably do is the following:

If you don\'t have Outlook, find a friend who does, borrow a copy of Outlook or use their machine...if your using a friends machine....make a new Outlook Data file (File-]New-]Outlook data file) *.pst file. The Personal folder should appear and then make a new calendar folder...

Import your *.csv files into the new Outlook Calendar....check all to make sure everything is correct....

If you use a friends machine, install and/or download Palm Desktop and the Sync Software to the host machine...Set your preferences for your syncronization to the Outlook calendar which you imported your data but make sure all your data improrted correctly in Outlook, check the field mapping...

Sync your palm to the Outlook file on the machine you are using...  ...then sync your palm to your own machine... all your data should sync normally

good luck and hope this helped...

Quick FYI!

http://maps.nationalgeographic.com/topo/pocket.cfm

This has just been released, Jan. 2004, as of now compatible with Pocket PC and Palm OS. You also need to have the State version of the software (providing you live in the U.S.)

Not much information regarding the format the files are saved in...Main State series files saved as *.tpo & *.tpg formats. At this time I\'m not sure what file format the Z will be able to read or if they can be converted to a jpeg file with notes....will work on it....

Windows Issues / PROBLEM SYNCING OZ WITH OUTLOOK
« on: December 30, 2003, 11:13:28 pm »
OZ? Stands for what?

Anyways...I recently upgraded my 5500 to the 5600 OS and was delighted with the ability to have choices to sync too...

Do you have mulitple folders in Outlook (i.e. default Outlook Folder and a personal folder open when you are using Outlook? Check to make sure...Intellisync defaults to Outlook Today Folder (i.e. email, contacts, calendar ect.) If you have any information in subfolders or in a *.pst file you need to navigate to the specific location in Outlook...

To do this Intellisync-]Sync Options-]Address Book-]Choose

If you have muliple Outlook profiles with different info click on the Browse button in the corner...It will show both files and you can choose specific locations for all syncs in Outlook, you may also delete the default option and choose a specific folder....

I use this all the time...I set up a shared *.pst folder in Outlook that my wife and I use for all \"family\" and we both sync to this folder...

Hope this helped...

I recenty received a Magellen Meridian Gold GPS for Christmas. It comes with 2 Software Packages MapSend Direct RouteI\'ve been working on how to get the maps into the Zaurus and also how to get the Zaurus to interact with the GPS (seems to be a cabling connection issue between 2).

http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/search.php?q...q=GPS&x=13&y=13

The above site is the search for GPS for the Zaurus and lists 15 GPS packages (some links don\'t work).

I checked out the above link from Mapquest, intersting but I don\'t know if it is workable. I\'ll check it out...You need to have a wireless connection to the internet for your Zaurus...
