you must format your sd-card with ext2!

only ext2 format will handle the symbolic links correct.

so long
kirschi

Tried that. it helped, but I still get symlink errors.

This is probably stupid, but I\'m having some trouble installing apps onto my SD card. Whenever I install something, i will get a \"failed to make a symbolic link error\" and then a series of \"failed to link /somedir\" errors. Any ideas?

I\'m using the 3.3.6 experimental release of OZ on an SL-5500. The SD card is formatted with the default fat16.

I know I am having trouble with the SL5500 Wireless ROM. Same issue as above, I download it and it comes out as a 0 byte file. Tried using both Firebird and IE, same results.

Sharp ROMs / Newbie ? - restore original rom?
« on: January 23, 2004, 01:58:04 am »
Just download the newest ROM from http://www.myzaurus.com/ . When you extract the software package, you browse to (as an example) C:5500v31uupdaterom  or wherever you extracted it. In any case, it will be in the updaterom folder. Look for a file called Ospack. That file is your retail ROM. If you want to flash back, just put that file on your CF card and follow normal procedure. Remember, if you have your current retail ROm setup in a way you like, remember to back it up! While experimenting with other roms, I had mine set up to work with my wireless network and a few contacts listed. It\'s nice not to have to do all that over again.

Use Wellenreiter with OZ instead of Kismet, you will save yourself a lot of frustration getting it to work.

I may have to. It looked like a good program.

Are you starting the Kismet-server app first or are you simply launching the Kismet-GUI by itself?

Tried that, still no dice.

Symbol spectrum24 wont work in promiscous mode on standard rom.

Prism 2 cards work ok though with standard rom & kismet + kismet-ui.

I was afraid of that. Oh well, this gives me the chance to install OpenZaurus then.

I just grabbed a Zaurus SL-5500 and a Symbol CF wi-fi card, and so far I love them. Just one issue, however.

When I installed kismit and then the qtopia GUi for kismit, I can launch the program and activate the card, but no signal comes up. I can connect just fine to my wireless network using the network utility, but kismit refuses to find anything.

I tried installing with add/remove and using the command line, the same results each time. I briefly checked kismit.conf, but didn\'t have a really close look.

I\'m using the retail Sharp 3.10 ROM and a 64mb SD card. Each time I install kismit to the internal memory.
