General Discussion / blueproton 802.11b card ?
« on: March 26, 2004, 10:39:59 pm »
I am a newbie, but I would NOT recommend this Blueproton card.  I bought the card from blueproton.com, because it stated Zaurus compatibility and showed pix.  However, I have tried for several hours to get the card to work with my Netgear router.  Blueproton did not respond to my request for support!!!  The CF wifi card is actually made by Senao.  Although the card tries to initialize and the LED lights up, I cannot establish a connection.  After finding a site that had reviews of the Senao card, I read that others had problems between the Senao and their Netgear router.  If you don\'t use netgear, then you may be alright.  Seriously, if you\'re interested in it, I\'ll sell you mine at a very reasonable price.  Otherwise, I\'ll probably just put it on Ebay.

Deals and Great Z Buys / Brand new camera card for $14.95

Just a heads-up.  SL-5600 users probably want to use the camera software package that came on the CD-ROM.  The version on the CD-ROM is -3 while -1 can be downloaded.  The only real difference (from what I can tell) is that photos can be saved in flash memory with -3, while the -1 only let me save to my SD-card...not internal flash.  Photo quality is still crap indoors

General Discussion / 5600 or 5500? Which one to buy?
« on: January 22, 2004, 09:49:46 pm »
The box will clearly tell you if it has the PXA255 processor.  Did it ship from Amazon\'s warehouse in Kentucky?  That\'s where my SL-5600 with a PXA-255 shipped from.

5x00 Hardware / how many dead pixels are normal?
« on: January 21, 2004, 07:07:40 am »
I\'ve got 1 dead pixel, but I fear that I may get a PXA250 processor (instead of a PXA255) if I return it to Amazon.  By the way, it shipped from Amazon\'s warehouse in Campbellsvile, KY, so I would imagine that Zaurii shipped from there may be PXA255 versions.

Software / How to auto mount sd card?

Weili1977,
On a different subject, I would like to know how to \"reinstall\" the orginal battery applet after a freeware applet replaced it.  After uninstalling the freeware, I no longer have a battery applet.  Actually, I\'m content with the freeware, but wondered how to get the original applet back...just for my own knowledge.  Thanks.

Windows Issues / Synch to Office 2003
« on: January 20, 2004, 10:13:26 pm »
I am able to have Activesync for a PocketPC and Intelliysync for the Zaurus both utilize Outlook 2003 on th same PC to sync.  Although I just installed Intellisync tonight, the two programs don\'t seem to have issues with each other.

Tarkus,
I ran the program, but I don\'t see the actual nomenclature of PXA255.  Among the 10 or so lines of output, I see \"CPU Part:  0x2D0\"  and \"CPU Revision:  6\".  Does that tell me anything?  Revision and serial fields below hardware show up as all \"0\".

Tarkus,
Since I\'m really a newbie, I don\'t even know how to get to the command prompt!!!  If it\'s a simple thing, please tell me how.  If not, I\'ll pull out the manual.

Tarkus and Guest,
Sorry to take so long to reply.  My serial number is 33003178.  I have not used a CPU detection program.  I don\'t mind using one, so long as it doesn\'t do any damage.  Where can I get it?

Software / VisualBoyAdvance and SNES9x on SL-5600
« on: January 18, 2004, 09:49:31 pm »
:? After installing Quake package and data file to my new SL-5600, only the top left quadrant of the game showed up.  It was unplayable, so I uninstalled it.  Was there supposed to be sound to this port???

weili1977,
I must have lucked out...  However, don\'t feel too bad, the screen isn\'t extremely bright and I have a \"dead\" pixel.  Well, it\'s not worth my time and effort to mess with sending it back.

General Discussion / Recent 5600s have PXA255 processor?
« on: January 17, 2004, 09:40:34 pm »
Hello.  I\'m the guy who started this new discussion about the PXA255 processor.  I bought mine from Amazon.com just 1 week ago.  It definitely has a PXA255 processor, according to the outside of the box.  I took a big chance (and hoped) that it would have it.  For $299 and free shipping, I couldn\'t go wrong.

General Discussion / The FCC has the manual for the SL-6000
« on: January 16, 2004, 11:40:42 pm »
I just received an SL-5600 with a PXA255 processor...the box says so!  I\'m very excited.  I guess that Dell wasn\'t the only company to make a switch in mid-stride.  Check Amazon.com for a great price and a PXA255 processor for the SL-5600...$299.88 with free shipping!!!
