The card finally started working. I did what you stated cyboreal and booted it up and then inserted the card. Once it a while it doesn't work after a hard reset. If I run 'udhcp' from the CLI it grabs and IP and off I go. I'll need to look into why dhcp is failing on it. Thanks.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / OZ 3.5.1 Wlan w/ Pretec not working

I've installed OZ 3.5.1 w/ the 64/0 image. When I insert my Pretec wlan card it binds it to eth0 and it doesn't work. I've been told that is should bind to wlan0. Anyway to force it to bind to wlan0 and could this be why my card isn't working? Thanks.

Ok I was able to reflash it. I must not have been pushing the 3 buttons correctly. I have super fat fingers (hot dogs?) so it makes it difficult. Thanks.

I had tried a couple times after it wouldn't do anything and nothing happened. I'm trying it right now and it appears to be reflashing it. Go figure.

I've been having problems with my 5500 since I got it. Sometimes I would be able to put a new image on there sometimes not.

Today I decided to try an older version of OZ. After about 15 or so attempts it finally flashed, the lights went off so I reset it but the battery light never lit up like it has in the past.

Nothing happens when I try and power it up now. No lights, nothing. Am I F'd?

Each to their own, but the standard I was taught was S to an s.  If it was properly implemented there should be a K representation already there.

Proper implementation is having reboot/shutdown scripts located in either rc.6 (reboot) or rc.0 (shutdown).

So then the question is, would I be better off buying one of the Japanese imports (the SLC860) or just wait out for the SL-6000?  Or should I just go for it, and get the SL-5600?

Not sure how related this is but when I had my 5500. Sometimes wireless would work, sometimes it wouldn\'t. VERY annoying. I never did find a resolution and very soon got tired of the device and sold it (for another reason though).

Well that sucks. That makes picking one of these up a little more difficult, IMO. God, if the battery life on the 5500\'s didn\'t suck so badly I would buy one (again). Sold my first one because of that alone.

You don\'t. The only way you can know is to buy it from an individual and ask them prior to purchase. I have tried asking several vendors and get the same reply....they just ship what they have in stock, and won\'t check, and won\'t let you request one over the other.
