It would seem the newer version UX90 sports a 1.2 Ghz cpu along with a CF card slot and english querty keyboard.

The CF slot definately helps make it more attractive.  Aside from the fact that its so expensive, has a crappy intel wireless chipset, and that its from Sony.... Id love one.

I am a linux n00b myself.  The most positive linux learning experince Ive ever had was doing a Gentoo install.  The documentation is excellent, they have fantastic forums and irc, and the community is very freindly to noobies.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / FN key behavior
« on: October 12, 2004, 05:13:49 am »
Is there a way to make the FN key toggle so that it doesnt act like a shift key?

It drives me nuts to have to reach across the keypad to press the "=" key or "@" key while holding the "FN" down.

I decided to try RC5 last night and thought it would be nice to resize the root to 121 mb on my c860.....no such luck.

While in the process of resizing/reflashing to find the max size root partition I could flash to, I kept wondering what option #3 is.  It says "Fix Sharp loader NAND 64MB limit (slc760/c860 only).

I tried searching with no luck.  Any ideas???

Title says it all.
Which ROM do you use and WHY do you use it over the other?

--this is not a why should I use A vs B ..but rather what do you like most about the version you use.

The clamshell just seems to win everyone over.  I know i was an instant convert too.

Now you just gotta flash with pdaxrom or cacko qt

860 all the way.  The clamshell 0wns !!!!!

First, while the 6000 screen may be even better, the 860 screen is still the best Ive seen to date. It more than gets the job done, \'cept those days where im wireless hacking at the beach

RE:built in wifi......well what would I do with all these cool Cf cards I have laying around if i had built in wifi????  Whats blue tooth????

While I still love my 5500, I noticed to often that when I was actualy working on it I prefered to use the landscape view.  The problem with that is if you are trying to type....you got the keyboard facing one way and the screen the opposite.  It just isnt the best arrangement.

The clamshell form factor just plain kicks @ss over the standard PDA designs, Zaurus sl-5000 through sl-6000 or otherwise.

just my .02

I was just doing some reading over at the ethereal website and found some interesting info.  Users of prism2 chipsets need to install a patched version of libpcap (0.7.1) on thier boxes.  I wonder if that wouldnt apply to us Zaurii users too?
