6000 - Tosa / Kismet on the 6000

Ok, let me try again. I already have  libstdc++-3-libc6.1-2-2.10.0.so what I am looking for is libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3.
I hope this is now better understood. Thanks again.
OK. I see. You don't need to download libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3. Creating the link per the how-to creates a file (kinda like a windows shortcut) named libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 which actually points to libstdc++-3-libc6.1-2-2.10.0.so .

At least I think this is how it works. I'm no linux geek but I'm learning.

I know this has been previously discussed at length in the forums. A guick search turned up this thread.
I'm sure there are others. Hopefully this helps with your problems.

6000 - Tosa / kpacman installation?
« on: October 28, 2004, 12:21:19 pm »
I have never heard even a peep out of kpacman. Not even with timidity installed.

It doesn't seem to save high scores either.

If anyone out there has had similar problems with "can't connect to server" I would appreciate some guidance on resolving the problem.  I have all the right files now but am still getting the error.

Thanks
I had this problem after the link to libstdc++ was broken.

From the how-to:
Code: [Select]
2) In terminal:
su
Copy libstdc++ to /usr/lib. Make sure the file permissions match the other libraries. Create a link to libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3. (ln -s libstdc++-3-libc6.1-2-2.10.0.so libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3)

But there may be other ways to cause this error.

Good job dude.

Lexar makes a Multi-Card Reader that is about the same size as a pack of cards, is blue and silver and reads seven kinds of different memory cards (they don't include any better identifyiers like model numbers on these products, darn it).  It includes a three foot cable that looks like it has mini-A male to standard-A male ends on it.  Someone with a 6K might try to see if this works as well.
I have a multi-card reader in my desk at work which I believe is a lexar. The plug looks the same but does not fit my SL6000. Its so close that just looking at it you would think it would work. Maybe filing it down would get it to fit but I decided to just go ahead and order a cable for the Z.

Software / TextMaker beta (rev 403) released
« on: October 17, 2004, 12:03:12 pm »
As the title says, a new beta TextMaker for Zaurus was released. New version expires Nov 15.

It still has the same issues with not being able to see the cursor or text highlighting on the 6000.

From the FranklinCovey website:

Compact: 26802
Classic: 26801

They look like nice cases. Thank you for the review akpoff.

General Discussion / Current State of 6000L Support
« on: October 16, 2004, 09:09:26 pm »
Ihave prboom running fine on my 6000 with ultimate doom wad and the midi background music with timidity. Took a while to get the controls mapped to my liking.

These are the files I used to get prboom working.
libSDL_1.2.6-zports-5_arm
libSDL-net_1.2.5cvs-1_arm
lib SDL-mixer_1.2.5cvs-1_arm
prboom_2.2.3-2_arm

Installed znester the other day to try it out. The 3 or 4 NES ROMS which I tried worked.

I ordered one yesterday and received a confirmation email at the $32.00 price. I checked the order status online and it says "order sent to warehouse". Hopefully it won't get cancelled.

If you check the Chumbo link now the price for the card is $106.49.

Software / Lib SDL on SL6000
« on: October 06, 2004, 12:39:56 pm »
I am using libSDL_1.2.6-zports-5_arm, libSDL-net_1.2.5cvs-1_arm, lib SDL-mixer_1.2.5cvs-1_arm on my sl6000.  No problems that I have noticed. I have prboom_2.2.3-2_arm working with these libs. Also have the midi sound working in prboom with timidity installed.

I would be interested in hearing what SDL libs others are using on their sl6000's.

Kismet doesn't connect you, it just listens.
I was refering to this this adhoc service from the How-to.

Quote
7) To prevent the Wireless Interface from timing out (and killing the kismet session) a Ad-Hoc Network Service is created. In the network app create a new service (I call mine “war-walk”). “any” for ssid. Ad-hoc type and then setup a bogus static IP address scheme with a class A mask. (IP – 10.1.0.2 Mask - 255.0.0.0 Gateway 10.1.0.1) DNS 10.1.0.1

8) Connect to this service.

I've had my 6000L for two months now but I still can't seem to get wifi working; and I've read all the how-tos I can find. I think my problem is that I've never used a wireless device before so the config files are a little strange to me. I tried using kismet but no luck.
Did you try the How to run Kismet on the SL-6000L How-To?

I have also noted that installing dev-img 1.5 will break libstdc++ link in /usr/lib and cause Kismet not to connect. It is easily relinked though.

I have had my ZSL6kL since late May. Its a pretty awsome tool and I don't regret buying it for even a second. Despite Sharps lackluster support.

Is the ipk to big for you to email because no matter how many times I d/l it has an error. "Some of the files were not installed please remove ...blahblahblah."
I'm on a dial up connection at home (dsl soon according to Verizon) so it would be a pain to send it. I don't know if it would do any good as it may be tied to my registration name and serial number.

Maybe you can re-register and download it again.

I have it installed to an ext2 formatted sd card, by the way.
