Debian / Usb Storage

I checked further in hub.c source and at least the checking seems to be gone since 2.6.21,
so i'll try a 2.6.22 from angstrom tomorrow and see what it tells me.
Another possibility is to try the not working device if the "Z" is not on battery power.

I have the same prob with insufficient power,
but I tested the stick with the stock sharp rom and there it got mounted without problems.
So it must be some kernel probs,.....or ?????

good to hear you,......

Since you don't circumvent any copyprotection, i don't see what they could do,....
I guess anyway they make their most income from the services they sell (Maps, Add-ons,...)
The Device should only be for convinience.

Debian / Abicom Vs Hostap [solved]
« on: October 15, 2007, 12:51:09 pm »
My Ambicom is finally up and running, with hostap_cs drivers !

I had to do all configuring on the shell,......wrote a little script and now i'm upgrading.

Don't know yet why the interfaces file does not work, but it really doesn't matter to me.

The mount error on startup was from an entry in fstab.

The only thing left is the complaining about not beeing able to set the hw clock.

Debian / Abicom Vs Hostap [solved]

hi,

I followed the guide for installing without a network connection.

Now i fail at my wireless setup !

Everytime i insert my ambicom card the hostap driver gets loaded even after i put them into
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

I tried this with kernel 2.6.17 and 2.6.22.

could someone with a working ambicom card post his configuration please ??

TIA holger

p.s. at boot i get errors about mounting local filesystems, but all is working ????
p.p.s. How do we set the hw clock the machine is complaining about this at shutdown ????

Debian / Kernel Sources

Since i started this thread:

1. I'm NOT  "some of the more 'rigorous' types from the OPIE/Angstrom group"
2. I'm just a linux user
3. The answers given in this thread are the reason why i asked:
    - "search the forums"
    - "look in the comments section"
    - "search the Angstrom Site"

Neil should have placed the link to the sources next to the link of the binary !!
And if he is using the Angstrom Kernel and points to their site for download of the sources he should also have their consent to host this for him.
I really dont sse a big problem here but offering a CD would be ok but also a little counter productive.
Maybe its just because im used to have all sources of my software at hand because im running gentoo.

Btw. shouldn't apt-get get me the sources from the repository ??

Really, this was not to upset anyone.

May i ask respectfully where the sources of the TichyLinux kernel are located ??

I mean isnt't this the whole point of the GPL ??
Providing the sources to the kernel and the patches ??
