bobey: you need to extract two files, with a z 3000
1) the kernel an modules: http://www.zaurus.org.uk/cortez/ubuntu/dow...addition.tar.gz
2) and the desired rootfs

Yeah I did that. However it doesn't work with the two cards I tried. In fact I had to take the unit apart, install the files on the MD and then insert it again into the C3000. Then the system boots. I guess there is some incompatibility with my CF cards or something. I will try with some SD cards later see if that resolves the problem. However at least I got the thing up and running now.

Seriously liking the Zubuntu.

Hello,
          I am trying to install Zubuntu on my C3000. I have followed Cortez guide as well as this one, however multiboot kernel deosn\t seem to find the files to boot off the compact flash card. First I had a Debian system installed on the internal MD and it found it, mounted it but gave an error that it could not find the kernel. However it then tried the compact flash but the only message I got was as shown below. I then removed the Debian distribution and it\s partitions and I get the same error now less the successful mount of the internal MD yet still no boot:

/dev/hd1: No such file or directory
Probing /dev/hdc2
/dev/hdc2: No such file or directory
No bootable device found

Btw I never get the menu.

Anyone have any ideas waht si going wrong. I have tried two different CF cards. Also I have tried Using only Cortex 8.04 guide/files and using these files in this thread. Same result.
