Windows Issues / NoSync in win 2000 -> IpConfig and ifconfig ...
« on: March 23, 2004, 09:48:44 am »
No pinging possible.  Of course when I change the local ip of the lan connection I can ping 192.0.64.71 (but only because its finding the \"lan card\").

Heres something interesting.  Occasionally (for no reason) the adapter automatically picks up 169.254.114.15 (or something close to it on) subnet 255.255.0.0 .... I have something else to note.  Whenever I hit the SYNC button the cradle my windows always comes up with the same old \"Unsafe removal of Device dialog\" .. even though the device is still sitting the cradle.  I think this may be most of my problem, because this makes me stop the device every time

Hi guys, new to the zaurus world and I have a quick question.

Im trying to get this old 5000d to sync up with win 2000.  I was successful only a handful of times the first day I got it using the sharp rom (Sorry, not sure what version).  That night I flashed the Rom to OpenZaurus 3.2 & Opie 0.9.3 and I have not been able to sync ever since (I am getting the same error I did with the Sharp rom, only now its EVERY time, instead of 9 out of 10 times).

I have the ip of my zaurus set to 192.0.64.71 (varified by iftrace at the command line).  I also have that same ip setup in intellisync version 1.43e.

Everytime I click on syncronize I get the same message

\"Please Change USB IP address on Zaurus.\" followed by
\"Renew PC\'s USB Ip Address?\"

Of course click on Ok brings back an error saying

\"Can\'t renew Ip Address.\"

Heres the strange part.

Ipconfig from the command line shows two network adapters.  My normal Lan card, and the cradle.  Unplug the cradle from USB and 2nd connection goes away (as expected).  Plug it back in, and it reads 0.0.0.0 for ip and dns.  Even after completing the Change Usb dialogs above.

At this point it takes about 30 seconds for the \"Can\'t renew ip addresS\" dialog to appear.   If I go into network settings and change the network adapters settings to a static ip address and set it to 192.0.64.71 the sync still dosent work, howeber the Can\'t renew ip address error comes up right away!

Help a brother out, this is frustrating as heck!
