Coredump - thanks for newbie-slapping, it's always obvious when someone else points it out  

I eventually gave up on this ROM because i "played about" with it by reflashing, installing stuff, reflashing etc.

I couldnt get irk to install properly.
It appears in the update list but ipkg says it cant find it.
I tried installing locally from CF and that "installs", but no keyboard options appear.

Justreader (my most used app)  failed, then it worked fine, then it failed again.

Opiereader is just nasty - is there no way to jump to a specific page in an ebook?

Other than these niggles, the rest of it seems fine, if not damn fine!!!
I'll try it again when it's officially released.

All seems to be going well on the collie, except....

1) I keep seeing a message on the taskbar every so often, "Error - Folder could not be initialised" (or something like that)

2) i booted into non-GUI mode and did an "ipkg upgrade" - it installed a few things. i rebooted and now all my ipkg sources are gone !!!

nothing in ipkg.conf and only arch,.conf in /etc/ipkg

Any chance someone could paste the src's ?

What is it with these Beta ROMs?

OK, took em a while to even get 2.1.2 to flash properly but when it finally decided to play the game, what did i find.

Still doesn't display icon titles when you rotate to landscape (90 degrees) and when you rotate back to 0 degrees, it locks up!!!

"Taskbar" disappears and a flurry of messages fly past when i try to view WLAN properties.

Hmm, dunno what i just did but now non of the icons respond.

oh well...flash back to something else :/

Solving DHCP issues is easy...don't use it.

You shouldn't really have DHCP on a WLAN anyway.

OK, let's start getting methodical about it

My keypebble works fine between my SL5500 and my XP machine so i'm not convinced it's a problem with keypebble itself. (yes, i know yours is OSX but the principles should be the same)

My configs for both are set out below for you to compare to
(if an option is not mentioned, then it is unchecked)

On XP Machine:
WinVNC 3.3.6  (i find 3.3.7 & 4 unstable)
Accept Socket Connections: Checked
Password: Z (for testing)
Display number: Auto
When last client disconnects: Do Nothing
Remove Desktop Wallpaper: Checked
Poll Foreground Window: Checked
Poll window under cursor: Checked
Poll Console Windows Only: Checked

On SL5500
(Server)
Host Name: <Static IP of XP machine>
Display Number: 0
Password: Z (for testing)
Bookmark Name: <My PC>

(Options)
Check for updates every: 1 Milliseconds (i've changed this...it always changes back)
Request 8-Bit session: Checked
Scale Factor: 1

Looks nice, i DO like the bouncing icons

Just a few things...

1) Why is this thread in the Sharp ROM section when the ROM is based on OZ ?
2) Icons lose their titles when you rotate 90 degrees.
3) Suspend does NOT work by pressing Cancel button.
4) Too many icons under a couple of tabs (for my liking)
5) Help icon under Applications instead of Settings ?

thats about all i noticed in the 2 minutes before i reflashed back to my preferred ROM
