I don't know for sure, but neither does he. mandjab expressed his opinion, but somehow I don't share his optimistic approach. I wish he's right, but we'll see at the end of the road.

I hope he's right as well, but I have a feeling that the Zaurus has pretty much reached a plateau and the W-Zero3 platform is the one Sharp will push as their wireless handheld solution.

I agree. If Sharp was so capable of desiging anytype of WLAN logic, why neglect the Zaurus line C series entirely from the 700 to 3200? Almost 6 iterations and not one included 802.11.

Question regarding the HTC Universal: How on earth is it possible to get it to work as a phone in Linux? Don't you need some sort of proprietary software from a phone company?
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Ironically, [a href=\"http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/htc_universal_windows_mobile_5_pocket_pc_phone]Judie from the Gadgeteer put up a review of HTC Universal[/url]. Which is exactly where my next upgrade will be. I put off upgrading until the 3200 was concrete. Instead of concrete, it just looks like a concrete brick to me.

For $800, it should've eclipse the HTC unit.

*Sigh*...

C1000/3x00 General discussions / My C1000 Review

When I was deciding whether to upgrade from my old 5500 to a C1000, I didn't find a lot of reviews about the C1000 specifically.  There were several on the C3000 and C3100, which are very similar, but I found very little about the C1000 itself.  Now that I own one, I decided to put together my own review for others interested in this unit.  It's on my web paget:  BlackCardinal's C1000 Review

If you have any comments or suggestions I'd appreciate the feedback.  (I think   )

Review was definetly excellent and educational one. Thank you.

I have a question: What kind of case do you use when you travel with it? Do you use one of those Nite Ize cases that attach to your hip?

Has anyone used or know of whether or not, the 6GB MD is workable? Did a search, but didn't see anything exclusively said about this product.

I noticed, that the C1000 from Geekstuf4u is now $411 and the price over @ conics is $457. Could this be an indication that a new C1xxx is going to be launched or is this just good time to jump on the C1000 from Geekstuff4U?

Very tempted...

C1000/3x00 Hardware / 5gb Compact Flash Deal?
« on: October 01, 2005, 04:05:09 pm »
Found a review of it, here.

It looks like it came from out of their Pocket drives line.

The pocket drive seems to be selling for $132 minimum, which nullfies my first post. But, I would believe that geeks.com are just taking the drive out of the Portable pocket device container of the Seagate and selling it bare.

There is also a Lacie 8GB USB 2.0 drive I've seen floating around this week and last week for $150. I wonder what they're using in the container?

C1000/3x00 Hardware / 5gb Compact Flash Deal?
« on: October 01, 2005, 10:55:31 am »
I just stumbled over this 5GB Compact flash card over @ geeks.com

If you use the coupon code: FATWALLET, you get 10% off to make the price $121. It seems like a deal to me.

4GB internal storage for the 3000/3100 owners, and, the 5GB flash? 9GB of storage? Anyone know if this will work on Zaurus?

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Ipod Hard Disc On Zaurus
« on: September 21, 2005, 11:45:22 pm »
Would it not be a bit more efficent to use Flash based memory for storage than the mechanical Hard drive itself?  As in, the iPod Nano? 2,4 & 8GB of flash seem a bit better on power consumption than the Mechanical based drives. Latency as well. Not to mention size of the overall device can be toned down. Although, Cost per unit may increase. It's not like that would be a problem anyway since Sharp is already charging an ARM and a leg for product with very little hardware features or storage than similar products (Archos) of the hand top market.

Just my opinion.

Thanks for the help!

Which CF bluetooth card do you have?

And do your themes work with the 3100 also, or only the 3000?

in your opinion, does the 3100 make the 3000 outdated? Is it significantly faster?

I would save about 200$ U.S. if I went with the 3000.

Thanks,
Anthony

The only spec that seem to have changed between the 3K and 31K is the flash state. The 3k has only 16MB available and the 31k has 128MB. Which is for storage IIRC.
