rm /etc/init.d/checkversion*

I have just flashed my Z 5500 with the latest version from the links and it still waits at boot with the kernel warnings.  There are no files named /etc/init.d/checkversion*.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Reporting bugs
« on: October 04, 2004, 05:13:07 pm »
I have just been looking at some of the bugs reported in the new OZ bug reporting system and to be honest I amazed at the lack of detailed put in some of them.  For example pkgX does not work?????

How in the world does anyone expect that to be fixed?  Please add some more details for example what is the message if you ssh to the Z and run the package from the command line?  Which model it is on, what cards are in it, which rom it is and which memory model.  I admit I am not the best myself but some people must expect miracles.  Come on lets make the next release free from bugs by giving enough information for them to be fixed.  Check back every now and then to see if more info is required by the developers or leave a contact email so they may mail you for the info.

All I want is a nice stable OZ as we all do so lets help the guys who give their time to developing OZ some help not hinder them with reports that are meaningless.

Installed 64-0 version with home on SD - so slow it\'s unusable !

Try this:

1. Make sure you also install the updated kernel
2. Mount your SD card in async mode:

su
echo MOUNT_OPTIONS=\"async,noatime\" ]] /home/root/.rom_options
reboot

3. If it still does not help, try another SD card. Some SanDisk cards  have been reported to have problems on Zaurus.

I have the same problem, the sd card is a sandisk but it flies with the tk alpha 3 rom.  So why should there be a difference?

Thanks

Hi, now when my Z run OZ 3.3.5 maybe i need strong emotions. My Sharp Camera works and my MI keyboard too. Today, with OZ compat lib, hancomoffice isn\'t a problem for anybody... Can you tell me why i need upgrading to OZ 3.3.6? How many advantages for it?

Best regards and many thanks,

Pedro

Pedro

Where can I get the \"OZ compat lib\" from?

Thanks

Zaurus - pdaXrom / SR-Wellenreiter II
« on: December 28, 2003, 05:29:23 pm »
I\'ll second that proposal as the files for the Sharp rom on that site won\'t unpack they use the OZ ipkg which has caused me problems in the past.

Thanks

General Discussion / Command Line commands needed to repair SL-5000d
« on: December 28, 2003, 05:16:33 pm »
You should be able to re flash it as it is the internal routines that read the CF to flash the rom not the OS.  If you downloaded the rom under Windoze this often breaks the file for some reason, try downloading on a Linux box and transfereing to CF.  If this is not possible try again under Windoze it may be ok next time.  If you find the answer to ctrl-d let me know I have been there.
