This is not a new ROM, but the same one that has always been issued since the 6000 started shipping

No, I received mine with v1.07 ROM, so I am happy

6000 - Tosa / NAND backup

I have a nand backup of an original japanese SL6000L (ROM v1.07), if someone is interested. Filesize is 66M, and it works fine, I have already used it to restore another SL6000L.

Yes, it works ! thank you very much !!
So, to transform the zaurus to a basic router box. follow these instructions :
* reactivate cards with cardctl (cardctl status to get info about your cards)
* configure them (ifconfig)
* and activate routing :
echo 1 ] /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

That\'s all !

I have a second SL6000L, I\'ll use it to create a NAND file, but does someone has a tutorial to create such a file ?

Hello,

I have a *little* problem with ny zaurus SL6000... I flashed it with SHARP zImage and initrd (created from sources), and now during the boot I have the following message :
INIT: Id \"ln\" respawning too fast; disabled for 5 minutes

I have seen on the forum that some people already had this problem. But I didn\'t manage to solve it... does it come from a corrupted zImage/initrd file ? Where can I find an zImage/initrd file that works ? (only the sources are available on sharp website)... Is a NAND restore the only solution ? BTW does someone has a NAND file for SL6000 ?

Thank you very much,

Hello,

I would like to use my sl6000 as a router, but I didn\'t find a way to have 2 network devices at the same time. The network configuration software sux and for example I need to switch off the wireless lan to switch on my ethernet CF card...
I didn\'t manage to activate both interfaces with the command line, because once the cf ethernet card is plugged into the Z, the system switch it off and I didn\'t find a way to reactivate it...
Does someone has an idea ?

Thank you

Security and Networking / Ad-hoc mode on SL6000
« on: June 02, 2004, 11:35:20 pm »
Okay I tried an OpenZaurus ROM with SL5600 ROM but all I get is a command line and no way to launch OPIE (/etc/init.d/opie start doesn\'t work).
The kernel source tree from SHARP is v1.07, whereas Craig\'s one is v1.12, maybe that\'s why I don\'t have ad-hoc mode (even if I uncheck \"non-Spec ESS-ID\" option). So I go on my investigations... I\'ll try to find ROM v1.12 on SHARP website.
By the way did someone managed to have more than 1 network interfaces working at the same time ? I can\'t with SHARP ROM (v1.07), I have to switch off wireless lan if I want to use my ethernet CF card for example... this really sux !

Security and Networking / Ad-hoc mode on SL6000

I don\'t have this ad-hoc option ! I use SHARP kernel source tree for SL6000, and I don\'t have this option. I cannot neither select ad-hoc mode (it doesn\'t appear in the list) nor change the channel (the option is not here anymore, whereas it was on both my C760 and C860)...

Why did sharp guys removed this functionnality from the SL6000 ROM ?!??

Hmm... I can\'t say anything politically correct here
You can try building a tosa-kernel with OpenEmbedded, we enable and patch the wireless extensions up to V15 there.
Ok I would like to try this, but I didn\'t find neither the kernel source tree nor the root fs, but only binaries... am I wrong ?

Security and Networking / Ad-hoc mode on SL6000

Hello,

With my zaurus C860 and C760 I was able to use ad-hoc mode with my wireless card, using the network configuration software. But with the SL6000, I cannot chose Ad-hoc mode, the only option is \"infrastructure\"... is there a way to use ad-hoc mode on SL6000 ? Why did sharp guys removed this functionnality from the SL6000 ROM ?!??
I cannot use iwconfig \"mode\" option, so I patched SHARP kernel source tree with wireless extension 13 patch, but it doesn\'t work...
Maybe someone has a clue ?

Thank you,
