Sharp ROMs / Cacko Rom 1.23 Is Released

Has anyone compiled a tun.o module for the C860 version of Cacko 1.23?  I'll compile one myself if I have to, but I'd prefer to avoid the time of setting up the tool chain if it's not necessary.

I was not able to reboot properly after it was installed. the Z just show the Sharp picture for eternity..

It isn't just you.  I have had the same result on my C860.  I just haven't had any time to diagnose it yet, so I hadn't posted.

There is on reason for the breakup if this thing is installable into an sd card.

Is there any other low power wireless cards (CF) that anyone is aware of - and if yes, any good deals on it?

Don't get too caught up on the "low power" desgnation on the Socket cards.  My recollection (though this is from memory, someone correct me please) is that the low-power feature requires driver support and the Z didn't have a supporting driver.

Now this may have changed with the current drivers; not my area of expertise.

No, but the IRK keyboard driver has support for just about anything you might find.

There are different versions of the driver which have been modified by various folks for the different models, so you have to be careful which one you install.  We are still waiting for Craig to release the "Grand Unified 2.0" version, but he's been busy with other projects lately.

Have you verified that the processes are actually exiting and not hanging around for some reason?  Or used top to check where your memory is going?

For Sale / Wanted / 5x00 Protective Flip Replacement! !

Unfortunately those are for the 5500 cover.  While I believe this would fit the 5600 and be a replacement of sorts, it is not clear like the 5600 cover.

In fact, at one time I tried to find a source for a 5600 cover to use on my 5500 as I much prefer the clear cover.  The only supplier I found was Sharp and the price I cannot recall, but it was high enough that I passed.

If this matters to loji, I would suggest contacting Sharp.  Otherwise the froogle link posted by webslngr will certainly lead to a cheaper substitute.

el_borak - I don't understand if your question is intended to be sarcastic or real?  If sarcastic, then I don't understand your point.  If real, then yes, I am willing to wait it out.  I'm confident that amazon will refund all my money, and it's within 30 days so I think that's reasonable.

Sorry, didn't mean to be so subtle.  It was a reference some of the earlier hyperbole where a vocal few seemed willing to settle for nothing less than Jeff Bezos' head on a platter, policies be damned.

I questioned the logic and rationalism of such a stand, but certainly respect their right to rant, human nature being what it is...

I'm waiting for amazon to provide the refund.  Even though they should know this is an obvious scam, they probably have to wait out the period as described in the a-z policy for insurance reasons.

What?  You willing to be reasonable and live up to the policies you both agreed to?

Lot's of reading?  The A-Z guarantee is very clearly and concisely spelled out on the link that is shown with every single merchant listing.

I realize it's human nature to lash out at the visible middleman when the real culprit has disappeared.  But Amazon has always done well by me.  And I have had to use the A-Z guarantee before.  They fulfilled their obligation precisely inline with their policies and kept me as a satisfied customer.

If I'd been unhappy with anything short of an instant refund, policy be damned, I'd have given up on a vendor that has since treated me very well.

But it's your right to steam.  I might well be doing the same in your shoes.  And there is always the possibility they will expidite things if they get enough queries to show up more on their rader.  Best of luck.

I almost jumped on this "deal".  Had one in my cart.  Decided against it purely because of funds.  But I never worried about losing money as I knew Amazon was a safe bet.
