i didn't like the sharp rom, and neither did my 5500.  It loves OZ3.5.2 however, isn't it strange how peoples experiences with identical software and hardware differ.

I'm using Socket Symbol.  it was a bit weird under OZ 3.2 (until i got all the configs fixed), but it works great under all other roms and it excels under coredump's 3.5.2!  I use it for accessing SMB shares of a win2k computer, access the net from the 2k computer and do some wireless sniffing with wellenreiter and kismet.  Works great for me and seems to do everything i ask it to.  Â£25 off ebay, absolute bargain imho!

that once happened to me, but i just reflashed again and all was fine!  very often, i've thought i've pressed full reset but it hasn't pushed properly, that could be the problem.
I reckon you should try flashing again and then pressing the reset button again, but ensure that it engages fully.

hadn't thought of doing that... just did it and it works great now.  thanks.

Anyone know why gaim won't connect to msn or yahoo?  on msn it doesn't even try to connect, and on yahoo it just says 1% then thats it!  I'm using the install of gaim that comes with coredumps rom!  any help would be appreciated greatly, thanks.

ok, everything was ok but now i've trashed gaim! it wouldn't work with msn so i updated a few ipks and now the whole lot is dead. I don't fancy having to reflash so is their anythjing i can do to fix it?

the error i get from konsole is

gaim: symbol lookup error: gaim: undefined symbol: gaim_eventloop_set_ui_ops

Any idea how to repair or could someone point me in the direction of the ipks that coredump used in this release? many thanks in advance!

I'm sing OZ 3.5.2 with Opie 1.1.7 if that helps at all!

ok, everything was ok but now i've trashed gaim!  it wouldn't work with msn so i updated a few ipks and now the whole lot is dead.  I don't fancy having to reflash so is their anythjing i can do to fix it?

hmmm.... thats odd!?  It didn't ask me if i wanted to move the directories, but now it shows the SD twice in the system info.  As long as it aint messed up its fine.  It doesn't appear to have changed anything and the link you pointed me to said it doesn't free any space.  I don't mind it not freeing any space, but will it make sure i don't lose any more, or at least not too much more?  Sorry to be a nuisance but I refreshed the package lists a couple of times and it FILLED the z so that I couldn't install konquerer!

I've run out of space on my z and it won't let me install anything else.  I flashed the 64-0 image!  
I've got a 256mb flash and when i was using oz3.2.1 I moved the /opt, /root, and /home directories to the sd and symlinked to them.  When I tried that with this version of oz, it fubared the install and I've had to reflash.  I want to be able to install everything to sd and have my z use the sd for everything, before trying to use the internal memory.  Any ideas?
If it helps, I don't intend to remove the SD from my z ever so i can use it like a kind of hard drive.

Ok, I\'ve updated the ROM to OZ 3.2 and the problems still persist but I\'m starting to think that its kismet not working, because it kismetqt keeps saying it can\'t connect to the server.  
Also wellenreiter doesn\'t work.  it installs ok, all dependencies met, etc. but when i click on the icon, it just does nothing.  I\'ve tried installing it to sd, cf, ram and root!  I\'m starting to think that warwalking is gonna be out of the question with my z.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what i should do now would be greatly appreciated.  I\'m probably just being dense, or have missed something.

I\'m having similair problems with a symbol spectrum24 card on a sl5500 (sharp rom 3.10).  My prob is that it \"can\'t connect to server\", but from what i\'ve read it\'s because 3.10 has problems with run as root so i\'m guna upgrade my rom to 3.13 (when my cf card arrives   )
Only prob with that is, every time i try to restore from a backup... it crashes and i end up hard resetting.  oh well, windows makes me do full reinstalls, why not my z as well.

ScytheBlade1 - I can\'t personally help you, but I\'ve seen LOTS of signatures on here that say the owner uses an ambicom card, so I reckon your best bet is to start pm\'ing people till somebody gives you some info that you don\'t know.  As ambicom cards are meant to work straight out of the box, i\'m sure you won\'t have any problems in finding someone here who says \"oh, i just did this.....\".  Good luck with getting it sorted out (I know how much of a bitch it is to have something that should work, not work).

I\'m having problems getting a Symbol Spectrum24 card to work on an SL5500 (Sharp ROM3.10).

I don\'t have access to a WLAN to properly test, however when I run Kismet near an area FULL of APs, the light blinks steadily, but nothing happens on Kismet or KismetQT.  When I set up a wireless connection in the network setting panel, it says that the signal is 84%, but as I said I don\'t have proper access to the network to check that it actually can connect.

Does this mean that the card is working or not, and if it working, how can I get promiscuous mode to start/work.  I want to use the WiFi card for Warwalking at the moment, so getting it to work that way is pretty important.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

i just installed libMad, and reinstalled ScummVM.  it didn\'t say anything about dependency problems this time, but when i run scumm it just looks like its loading, but then nothing happens.  whatsuponz doesn\'t show it running any processes so i can only presume that it doesn\'t load.

I\'m trying to get monkey island 1 to work with it.

the libs i\'ve got installed so far are:

libSDL 1.2.6cvs-1
libSDL-mixer 1.2.56cvs-1
libSDL-net 1.2.56cvs-1
libSDL-image 1.2.56cvs-1
libmad 0.14.2b-1
zlib 1.1.2

I recently decided to download ScummVM so I can play Monkey Island on my Z, but for some reason it doesn\'t seem to want to work.

When I install it, it installs fine to my SD card, but says that i have to fulfil package dependencies for it to work.  The only dependency i can find on the net is for libSDL but i hav libSDL_1.2.6cvs-1 installed, and it still doesn\'t work.

If anyone can help me get it working i would extremelly grateful as i fancy some Z swashbuckling.
If it helps, i\'ve got an SL5500 with the Sharp ROM3.10 ,ScummVM_0.5.1-2, and Qtopia 1.5.4.
