I don't think anyone has, but I agree it would be great to be able to use them with the Z.  There is a well established project at sourceforge for a kernel module to support the more common chipset, so it may not be too hard to get it working on the Z.  Check out my previous post and the link in it.
You link appears to be dead, can you check for misspelllings?

Sharp ROMs / Java Applet From Opera?

If I compile a Java JVM, like blackdown for ARM, and use javaplugin.so ?
I didn't think the embedded version of Opera supported plugins anyway.
Well it does have a PDF plugin so it should be possible to have java/flash plugins.

Sharp ROMs / GLIBC_* errors

You say you installed another version of libc; this is probably the problem.

The error says "required by /usr/lib/libc.so.6". This isn't where libc normally lives afaik. Your versions of libc are getting mixed up. Why did you install libc2.3.2?

I'd remove it and try again, that should get rid of the second error.

Si
I think it was required by kismet..
And I looks like I can't remove it:

"unable to remove '///usr/share/zoneinfo/iso3166.tab': Read-only file system"

Also I have some bad memories about removing libc from my Z5500.. had to reflash.

Do you still have octave somewhere? The ipk from the only feed where I could find it doesn't work for some reason.

The SL-series has the same input methods but it lacks good dictionaries afaik.
Now, you made me curious.  Which dictionaries does the M series have that would be better than any  dictionaries from Kenkyuusha, Iwanami, Sanseidou, Koujien, etc.
Since my statement was based on personal experience (-> "afaik")  I hope you will forgive me if I'm incorrect. I was looking for a suitable dictionary for my SL5500 for quite a while but gave up when a friend recommended the site I mentioned above. Also afaik the dictionaries posted there are incompatible with the SL series (see compatibility-column).

Since you seem to be know better dictionaries (are they compatible with the SL6000?) could you maybe post a link here where they are available for download/buying?

If you're looking for a capable japanese dictionary PDA I'd suggest you take a look at the MI series first before thinking about buying one from the SL series.
The SL-series has the same input methods but it lacks good dictionaries afaik.
There's Kanji-Nirvana and maybe a few others but its still far away quality-and quantity-wise from what you can get for the MI-models.

This is the MI-21:

[img]http://www.kodai1.ed.jp/kadaiken/pasokon/mie21.gif\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /]

It can play MP3s, has a CF slot and 64MB RAM.
However it doesn't run linux but otherwise it wouldn't be able to use the dictionaries from this site which are quite good.

Hope this helps.

You can also use the built-in wifi if you're having problems with usb.

Sharp ROMs / GLIBC_* errors

Aahh yes I should've seen that.. and indeed libvorbis seems to be from a OZ feed.

The second error seems to be libc related though. I get the same when trying to run ip from the iproute package.

Sharp ROMs / GLIBC_* errors

I'm getting the following errors when trying to start scummvm:
Code: [Select]
scummvm: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3' not found (required by /usr/lib/lib
vorbisidec.so.1)
scummvm: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: version `GLIBC_PRIVATE' not found (required by /usr
/lib/libc.so.6)

I'm using Sharp ROM 1.2 on a SL-6000.

libc6_2.3.2+cvs20040726-r9_arm.ipk is installed.

Any ideas?

Since it's written in Python afaik and there's Python for the Z, it should work.

6000 - Tosa / bluez problem
« on: November 17, 2004, 02:25:57 pm »
ok I will follow http://www.externe.net/zaurus/kernel/READM...mk7-pxa3-common then and report back once I'm done.

Update:
Might take a while because I'll have to do this at university where we have Solaris (which forces me to recompile the crosscompiler).
My harddrive died recently and I can't reinstall linux until I have rescued all data that I can..which means I need an additional 100-150GB temporal storage space. Oh well..

The english seemingly doesn't support bluetooth out of the box, probably because there is no 6000W outside of Japan officially.
I'm currently trying hard to get bluez working
But luckily guylhem is very helpful.

there's no line about ttyS2 in the dmesg.
can you lit up the blue led with:
echo > /dev/ttyS2

This works, blue led lights up for a short moment.

Regardingn hciattach, what if you replace csr by bscp?

Unknown device type or id

pskey -d /dev/ttyS2 -s 115200
it may give you some more information about the firmware the device etc.
Code: [Select]
# ./pskey -d /dev/ttyS2 -s 115200
Physical device :/dev/ttyS2
Speed           :115200
Use BCSP        :NO
Initiating read thread
BT SYS: ERROR: hci_receive_data: discarding 2 bytes
Now trying to read firmware info
Successfully read firmware info.
and blue led is glowing.

If all that fails, can you try the custom kernel as explained on externe.net/zaurus/kernel ?
Hm..maybe that's a bit drastic? I mean you managed to get bluetooth running with the standard sharp rom, right? Maybe I just forgot to do something...
