Software / Me And The Wikipedia Thing

Hello!

For one year I started several trys to run a wikipedia on my zaurus.
I know there are different ways and the zbedic solution is currently working for me but it isn't up to date and has errors (html code in description etc pp).

I tried to tinker a new zbedic-dump with wiki2zaurus but failed because there are no actuall sql dumps.

For a few days i try to setup wikijserver but the main site don't describes how and where to get the files from. Or am I silly as rock. In any case... please enlight me!
With ewe the wikijserver runs but I want to use jeode...

So, how can I start this damn fucking wikijserver.ewe (sorry but I am really desperat. What the hell is that? a jar file?? I know that java is a platform independend programming language but nothing more and I don't want to know more about it for just using a simple application) with evm? Ii complains about a not defined classname. ewe starts it with appname=wikijserver. That doesn't work.

I googled and googled but nothing helps.

I just want to use the wikipedia on the zaurus. Nothing more....
Please help me.

Yes, looks like I can trap suspend and resume event, but that still doesn't give a reliable way to figure out what's the status of the lid...

But that doesn't really matter. I'd be just as happy with blinky led indicating the Z is on when the LCD is off as with a led indicating the Z is on and the lid is closed. I'd basically just like a visual cue from the led when you can't tell it from the Zaurus itself.
It'd actually be better if that led blinked anytime the Z was on with a keyboard off.

Combining that with throttling to 200mhz when the LCD is off would allow someone to carry the Z on all day. I don't need the Z to suspend when I close the lid, since there's no way to start it again when you open it. But a blinky led and a throttle CPU would allow a user to close it and keep a very fast startup time (just the time for the LCD to turn back on, since throttling back to full speed is pretty much instantaneous).

Ideas, comments, insults?

Just one question aeh... if i close the LCD, the zaurus goes to suspend right? Does it consume more power as if the cpu is throttled when closing the lcd?

Is it possible (with Cacko 1.22) to chance the CPU-Frequency to powersaving when  the display is closed and set to normal when it´s opened.

I'm currently running a June 2004 Wikipedia without issue. It's addictive - I wasted a couple of hours reading random entries after I installed it.

This one seems too old to have a Zaurus entry, though. =(

Whats the current status of wikipedia for Zaurus? How can I set it up as Noob?
All the reading throughout the Internet didn´t  helped me. :-(

What method are you using from the FAQ to get the Japanese characters? If you're using zstyle, what happens when you bring up the CRIM and try to draw a Japanese character? Do you have mojibake (the little boxes) or does the character show correctlly in the CRIM before you hit enter? Do you have Japanese characters showing in any programs, or do all of them have the problem?

I´m using ZSTYLE and the locale is set to english. If I am remembering right, on Cacko 1.21b i used not zstyle but the conversion script. There I´had no squares in CRIM and jisho.
If I draw a character in Cackp 1.22 I get also squares. The Texteditor also. I think all apps have this problem.

... but I installed the japanese-support from the feed correctly. Also I set lcfont and helvetica as described in the cacko-japanese-faq.
sljisho has no font selection. What font does it take? And where can I get it?

in the past week I´ve searched for information on video encoding for Sharp Zaurus C-750 but have found nothing really useful for me.

Which software do you use under Windows to convert a "desktop"-avi to a "zaurus"-avi?

I favour the Xvid and OGG codec together. Is it the best to use?
