Software / lirc for theKompany rom 1.5

For your information, Lirc need to have a file containing the remote configuration, it can't learn without the remote. So, if you did not record it before or if it is not available on lirc.org, a working lirc will be useless...

I found the make, but not the model on the lirc site, it said it covered various appliances, by teac, such as cd player, tv, dvd etc.  So hopefully it will work

Would anyone know where I can find lirc for the 'theKompany' rom, version 1.5? I think its running kernel 2.4.18-something-something, from memory. I found lirc compiled for a slightly different kernel, but it seems to fail to work.

I'm trying to use 'remote' to run a friends DVD player, as their remote has been lost, and some DVD's can no longer play, not to mention any special features etc.

How would I enable iptables [or similar firewall] on the zaurus [with thekompany rom], or is there already a firewall in place? Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Software / wireless discovery

Hi all

  I now have my SL-5500 and am running theKompany rom, with a wcf12 wi-fi card. I am trying to install wellenreiter, kismet [to no avail] or similar wireless discovery tool, should this work okay or should I be looking at another rom or tool?

  Any help greatly received

Would anyone have a 5600 for sale, I will pay more then my original price, any offers?

I'm about to buy a 5500, unless someone has a 5600 for sale?

Also, I found a link here somewhere, to a site that sells 5600's new, for around USD$311 delivered, but can't find it now, would anyone know of it? Please?

  I read somewhere in an amazon review that the 5500 supports a 128Mb SD card only, and no larger, is this true?

  Also, I can't find an FAQ on this site, is there one?

For Sale / Wanted / Wanted 5600

Hi All,

  I live in Australia, and would like a 5600, new or as good as new condition. I've looked on Amazon and ebay, although the Amazon seller [the zaurus with the camera thrown in won't reply]. Has anyone got a 5600 for sale?

  I'd like the item for sending digital images over a wi-fi card, and for e-mail and occasional net surfing.

  There seems to be plenty of 5500's for sale, what is the difference in the 5500 and the 5600, all I can work out is the battery is more powerful on the 5600, double the processor speed [400 not 200], you can change the battery on the 5600 and the memory is slightly higher, is this right?

  Also, which is the preffered wi-fi card to use? One that is low power would be best.
