Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Oz3.5.3 (collie) On/off Button Problem

On that note:  I've been trying to get my Zaurus to do the "resume of death" all afternoon and now for whatever reason it seems to be working fine. Bah. I might reflash back to a base OZ 3.5.3 image soon in hopes of getting it to show up again so I test some other things...

It seems to happen more consistently when you have an app running, like -- bring up calendar, then suspend.

Also I think it helps to suspend and leave it suspended a long time before waking it up.

Now I just need someone to tell me about the how a Zaurus that doesn't have these problems in the first place behaves with no apmd running.

Wait, I don't quite understand what you need tested...  My 5500 seems to have pretty much the same issue; with the apm_bios line in, it won't resume after suspend about 25% of the time.  You're looking for someone with a 5500 who can suspend/resume consistently with the line in?

This would mean I can't help...  but if I got it mixed up and I have what you need, I'd be happy to

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Openzaurus 3.5.3 Pre-release
« on: March 31, 2005, 01:38:42 am »
Nice update, thanks as always for your work.  Installation was smooth -- I even left the SD card in on the first boot and no troubles.

Here's one problem I encountered that doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet.  I'm using Collie (SL-5500).

I'm having trouble setting the date.  Any time I set the date and hit OK, the date resets to Jan 1, 2003, and any other settings I changed on the dialog (i.e. the time) are lost.  If I just change the time, the time will work okay.

I also noticed that it still takes a really long time (6-10 seconds) to become responsive after waking up from sleep.  I know that's an old problem, just confirming that I'm still seeing it.

Looking forward to 3.5.3!

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / 3.5.2 - Problems, Fixes, Questions
« on: December 12, 2004, 09:15:47 pm »
I'm having a little trouble with knights -- it seg faults.  The only way I could install it was by forcing dependencies; otherwise it would complain that it needed libqte2.so >= 2.3.7.  That's strange, because libqte2.so v2.3.7 is already installed with the openzaurus ROM.

When I run from the command line, it seems to be loading a bunch of picture files (successfully), then displays the following few lines:

Match constructor 1
Match constructor 2
Match constructor 3
Match constructor end
core::initEngines
Segmentation Fault

"initEngines" makes it sound like maybe it's crashing when it tries to find phalanx.  I'll continue to look into this and post if I figure out a solution.  It's worth noting that phalanx is installed, and I can run it standalone with no problems.

Security and Networking / Symbol Wireless TX Packet Errors
« on: October 02, 2004, 02:46:05 am »
My performance on a Symbol Wireless card is really painfully slow.  I checked in ifconfig and it looks like I'm getting a bunch of errors on TX packets -- not on RX packets though; those are totally error free.

This happens even if I stick the PDA right next to my access point, so I don't think it's a distance or interference problem.

I'm using the older sharp ROM (verison 2 instead of version 3) because it's the only system I can actually get the darn driver working in the first place.  The driver version is 0.3.4.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?  I kinda fear that I have a busted wireless card.

Thanks,
Fray
