Ah, shouldn't have wrote that early...
my wireless lan card (netgear ma701) which i used to do the update doesn't work anymore.
Going back to hostap modules 0.3.9 solves that.

Whatever... gaim and mini-browser tonight, the rest tomorrow

I just installed a virgin OZ/GPE on my collie 5500.

ipkg upgrade gives me

gammu misses its latest lib

It must be possible as there's a setting to blank the screen rather than suspend in the Light & Power settings - I'd look in the code for the applet and see what it calls.

This has not worked for me for a while, it just turns the backlight off.
