6000 - Tosa / Zaurus 6000l & Wifi Usrobotics

dixie,

You didn't include the config of the Access Point you are trying to connect to,  I assume that you have verified the Z settings against the AP settings.  Why did you try the different ESSID's? What is the AP ESSID?  Also 192.168.1.22 seems odd as a default gateway address, not invalid, just usually see 1.1 or 1.254, etc.

Some more questions, have you tried setting the ESSID to Non-Specific or "ANY" ?  Is there any encryption running on the AP, WEP, WPA etc?  Are there any restrictions on which MAC addresses can connect set on the AP?  Is the AP set to accept a specific speed connection, i.e., greater than 11Mbps, or 802.11g?  Can you set the Z to dhcp and try pulling an address from the AP?  Can you connect to the AP from another system, if so what are it's settings?  Is there any firewalling associated with the AP? You say you checked the iwconfig wlan0 settings, I assume you mean ifconfig, what are the DNS Settings there, none are included in your post, are they valid?

Just a few basic questions, I hope they help you find the answer to your problem.  I doubt that the issue is related to and incompatability between the chips.  Good luck!

For Sale / Wanted / For Sale: Like New Sl-6000l (save $75)
« on: November 28, 2004, 07:40:00 pm »
I don't mean to burst your bubble, but Amazon has them NEW for $379.00. I love my Z Sl 6000L but lets face it, they are not ever going to be worth the original purchase price, once they have been used.

Just FYI, hope you get a buyer at your price, if not let me know I could use a spare for OZ testing.

Good Luck!

6000 - Tosa / Who has a 6000?

Just got my SL 6000L today!! Sweet!!  Even though Sharp is discontinuing them here in the US because we are to stupid to use anything but Windoze based PDA's, I love this machine!  Hopefully the sheep will wise up and create a market for Linux based PDA's.
