6000 - Tosa / Making Angstrom Work On Tosa
« on: January 14, 2008, 12:31:08 pm »
I installed Angstrom on my tosa and it seemed to work fine. However, none of the ipks I downloaded unstable/armv5te/base/ works for me. I used package manager and it just popped up an error message saying:
Quote
An error occured.
Please consult the message log for hints what went wrong.
I have no clue what went wrong and where to check message log.
In the system info -> log display -> System Log, I got:

Can't find circular buffer, is syslog running?

works fine in opie.  Looks like something I did wrong on my setup. Still putting opie together on the 6k.... But I assume gpe will work just fine too.

Thanks.

I am trying to enable my wifi for OZ/GPE but with no luck.

Is there information that I can use to enable wifi on my tosa? I checked wiki and it doesn't work. Maybe it's the way I specified the WEP password. In the wiki, it says:
wlan_ng_key0 aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa

Now, my home network is setup to use 64bit Hex, how do I setup wlan_ng_key0?

Also in the wiki, it says to change wireless_mode from managed to ad_hoc, does that means I need to change my router's setting as well? Thanks.

6000 - Tosa / Bluetooth Headphone On Sharp Rom?
« on: November 23, 2006, 01:30:58 am »
I have my bluetooth cf working and "sdptool browse" can find my IOGear bluetooth headphone. When I use
Code: [Select]
spdtool search -bdaddr 00:11....It reported the headset information. However, my bluetooth headphone's led kept blinking which meant it was not connected.

I can't find anyone use headphone successfully on SL6000. But I'd like to ask to see if anyone got it work or I should give up for good.

well, seems that this logitech wireless headphone does not use real bt technology. I can't even make a Mac G4 laptop discover it.
Case closed.

Ok, got the headphone today but still can't make it work. I think my bluetooth started ok, when I use hciconfig I got:
hci0: Type: UART
BD Address: 00:02:C7:42:BE:C0 ACL MTU:340:4 SCO MTU: 64:10
        UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN
        RX bytes:298 acl:0 sco:0 events: 15 errors:0
        TX bytes:472 acl:0 sco:0 commands: 13 errors:0

But when I ust sdptool browse, I got nothing except Inquiring ...
Maybe the headphone is not supported? Or do I miss anything? I don't have other bt device so I don't know...

6000 - Tosa / VoIP On the 6000

Hi guys, brilliant thread!
I read through all the post and am able to setup KPhone on my Z.
Now, I have packet8 service and how can I send/receive calls from my Z to packet8? Say if I make it happen, I have to leave my Z open all the time to receive calls, don't I?

Thank you. There is only source code and I don't have cross-compile set up. I tried many times to set up cross-compile on either my Fedora or Gentoo but no luck. Do you know any ipk available?

I am thinking of buying a logitech bluetooth headphone (this one), since it has 50 rebate right now, so that I can enjoy wireless music.
After I read a bunch of tutorial and forum discussion, I still can't make it work. Basically, the error message I got when I tried to start bluetooth is:
Starting Bluetooth subsystem: hcid sdpdCan't open RFCOMM control socket: No such file or directory
 rfcomm.

I installed:
bluez-kernel-2.4.18-mh14_arm.ipk
bluez-libs-2.21_arm.ipk
bluez-utils-2.21a_arm.ipk
(download from HERE)
and
bluez-csr-serial_0.1_arm.ipk
(according to Bluetooth HOW-TO)

any help will be greatly apprecriated.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Wifi And Some Minor Questions
« on: March 09, 2006, 11:07:42 am »
One thing confuses me is where I can put static ip address of my SL6K? I checked /etc/wlan/wlan.conf but can't find any where to add that. Again, I added the ip address under Lan & Wifi but no go.

Regrading the suspending problem, sometimes it works sometimes it does not.

Looks like I am going back to Sharp rom

I don't know where the problem might be. I thought those messages are related to my problem that wifi does not work.

I am pretty sure that I tried Fn+c in terminal. But it turned to be just a regular c.

I just found out that when I use power off button to suspend SL6k, I can't bring it back.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Wifi And Some Minor Questions
« on: March 08, 2006, 02:40:31 pm »
I just managed to install pdaXrom this morning. But I couldn't get my wifi to work. I follow the instruction that I found here:
instruction I found
but when I wifiup, I got the following message:
:
:
prism2dl: warning: Failed to find PDR for plugrec 0x0406.
prism2dl: warning: Failed to find PDR for plugrec 0x0302.
prism2dl: warning: Failed to find PDR for plugrec 0x0303.
prism2dl: warning: Failed to find PDR for plugrec 0x0412.
prism2dl: warning: Failed to find PDR for plugrec 0x0414.
prism2dl: finished.

I do see the wireless led turned on. I don't know if it is because I am in static IP wireless network. I changed the settings under System Tools -> Lan & Wifi but it did not work. Can anyone help me with this?

Also, how do I type Ctrl-C in command line?

Thanks
Martin

Qt/Qtopia / Qtopia Example Compile Error
« on: June 21, 2005, 11:28:09 am »
I installed all required packages in the "Compile Setup" in Zaurus How-To Docs. The only difference is I installed version 8-3.3.4.2 for those compat libs under my Fedora Core 3 machine. Building the example for x86 is fine and it also executed ok. But when I switched to dev-arm-qpe.sh and tried to compile a zaurus version of that example, I got the following error message:
Code: [Select]

Software / Kdepim-pi On Fedora Core 3
« on: June 20, 2005, 02:41:23 pm »
Quote
Hi All,

Just wanted to mention my experience with Fedora Core 3 and running kdepim-pi.  I managed to get it working with too much problems by downloading the 2.1.0 memory stick version from pi-sync.net.  Afterwards, trying to run kopi_Linux by itself comes up with a linking error as it looks for libqt.so.3.  On my system I had /usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib/libqt-mt.so.3.3.4, so I added a symbolic link from /usr/lib/libqt.so.3 to /usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib/libqt-mt.so.3.3.4.  After that, kopi_Linux runs! Syncs like a champ over 802.11b to my 5600.

I didn't get into kdepim-pi until just recently and have now found it to be just a fantastic piece of software.  And the fact that I can sync on Linux is great.  Big thanks to Zautrix for all the hard work, and hope this info may help others get things going.

Which file did you use exactly? I have been trying to make a working version on my Windows 2000, Fedora Core 3, and gentoo. None of them works for me. I can't find any support forum either. It would be great to sync with my 6K.

Windows Issues / Ka/pi In Windows 2000
« on: June 15, 2005, 11:52:35 am »
I downloaded various version from sourceforge and am using kdepim_2.1.5_windows_xp for my windows 2000 machine. First of all, during configure kaddressbook->data storage path, after I click "Save using LOCAL storage", I can not change it back to standard. I had to go into .microkdehome to change it back.

No matter what option I used in configure kaddressbook, when I tried to configure resource, I got "unable to create resource of type 'dir'". Nor can I create other type of resources.

The reason I want to configure resource is because I got "There is no resource available" when I tried to create a new contact.
