I know this is a quite old issue, but maybe somebody can help.

I would like to build a bedic file from the latest wikipedia dumps. I downloaded the latest dumps from [a href=\"http://download.wikimedia.org/]http://download.wikimedia.org/[/url], wiki2bedic.pl from http://www.freedict.de/download/wiki2bedic.pl, but on running wiki2bedic.pl, I got either:

'Cannot opendir /usr/src/packages/zaurus/wikip/1/wiki/de/ : No such file or directory'

or the script was running forever.

Is there a newer version of wiki2bedic.pl? Do I need any other software? Do I use the right Wikipedia dump files?

You have to either changge the script or create the mentioned directory before you run the script.

Software / So, Who Has Bought Textmaker?

After the price drop I also bought TextMaker, but there appears to be some problems when installing TextMaker on my Zaurus 760. If I run the installation from the GUI, it tells me that "something went wrong", which is not very informative... If I install from a shell (ipkg install TextMaker_2002.ipk), unpacking goes fine, but I get a segmentation fault in the next step (I don't recall the name, something like "configuration").

TextMaker appears to have been installed anyway, but I am a little worried that the installation is not complete, leading to problems later on.

Sharp ROMs / Kismet Under Tkc Rom?

Has anyone managed to get Kismet running under tkc ROM? I've tried experimenting with different entries under "source=" in /home/root/usr/local/etc/kismet.conf, but when I try start kismet_server I get the message

Linux Issues / Problems With Zgcc

I have to run "source zgcc.sh" as root, but root doesn't recognize the command "source"...

To me it looks like this command should run the shell-script zgcc.sh. If this is true, you could try

Denmark / Cfxga-kort Til Salg

Jeg købte for noget tid siden et CFXGA-kort, som gør det muligt at forbinde en projektor eller et TV til min Zaurus. Jeg har brugt kortet mange gange i forbindelse med PowerPoint- eller Impress-præsentationer, som jeg kan have liggende på min Zaurus og vise via en projektor. Mit eneste problem har været en løs forbindelse i kablet til projektoren. Firmaet har så sendt mig ikke bare et nyt kabel, men også et helt nyt CFXGA-kort - så nu har jeg faktisk sådan et kort til overs. Er der nogen, der er interesserede i kortet plus et lettere defekt kabel? Problemet med kablet er, at når det bøjes på en bestemt måde forsvinder den blå farve. Se mere om kortet her.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Timidity

My guess would be that Timidity simply needs more CPU cycles than the Zaurus' processor is able to deliver.  You could try to the "System Info" application and see how hard the CPU is loaded.

I've discovered one problem with KO/PI 1.9.14: Double-clicking in the agenda brings up a "new event" dialog, but the title of the event is taken from an old event, the date always seems to be the current date (not the date you clicked) and the time to be 12:00 .
I really apprecieate this PIM-suite - use it all the time.

Tchen: is your card in fact correctly recognized, i.e. when you insert your card, do you get a message telling you the correct type of card? If you run the command lsmod in the terminal, after inserting your card, does it show a p80211 module?

I guess if your card is correctly recognized, you have the correct driver.  Can you be more specific regarding your problems in establishing a connection? Does the LED in your card blink?

As I tend to have a large number of emails on my server, being able to use OM/PI with IMAP is really nice, but I have a problem with non-English characters like our Danish æ, ø and å. For one thing, they are not displayed correctly in the email body. Also, in the message headers OM/PI doesn't parse text like

=?ISO-8859-1?Q?Ingeni=F8ren|net?=, so reading the "From" and "Subject" field often is kind of difficult.

The first problem might have to do with missing characters in the font I use. I also have problems with missing characters in Zbedic, but not in programs like Hancom Word.
