OpenBSD / Installing Openbsd
« on: November 28, 2005, 01:30:39 am »
I have read through the docs for installing OpenBSD 3.8 on a c3000.

What I plan to do, in a few hours is:
1> Install the ipkg
2> Reboot and start the install
3> Delete the existing dos partition (how do you do a resize?)
4> Create a new very very very small dos partition
5> Create an openBSD partition and setup as normal
6> Setup networking over the usb port.
7> Install and enjoy.

Is there anything wrong with this process?

I have setup a fair few openBSD machines before but they are all servers with the whole disk to BSD so this is a semi new process for me.

Thanks

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Restoring Zdict Dictionary Files
« on: February 16, 2005, 01:21:58 am »
I accidentally erased these two folders when I damaged my Zaurus OS during the repair process. Where do the folders dict1 & dict2 belong on the C3000. I assume that all I have to do to get zdict working again is to put the folders in the correct location.

Thanks

nich.

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Ipk Setup For C3000
« on: January 08, 2005, 08:39:56 am »
I was looking through google and the forum on information on how to build/compile applications for a Z, in partiuclar for a C3k.

The best info I could find for doing a cross compile on a linux box was from: http://www.linuxgazette.com/node/669
Does anyone know of a better guide on how to build an IPK using a cross-compiler?

I remember seeing a post on the forum about how to compile on the C3000 however I cannot find this anymore. Is there a guid out anywhere on how to compile on an app on a C3000 and then turn it into an IPK package so it can be removed easily?

Is there a standard/community method for releasing IPK packages or just host them on a webserver and add them to http://killefiz.de/zaurus/

Thanks for any help.

From what I have read the supplied Zaurus SL-C3000 PS only supports 100V and plugging the supplied adapter into 240V socket will fry it?

If so does anyone recommend a good 240V PS for the Zaurus or should I just get a 240V -> 100V step down converter?
