Installing Openbsd
« on: November 28, 2005, 01:30:39 am »
I have read through the docs for installing OpenBSD 3.8 on a c3000.

What I plan to do, in a few hours is:
1> Install the ipkg
2> Reboot and start the install
3> Delete the existing dos partition (how do you do a resize?)
4> Create a new very very very small dos partition
5> Create an openBSD partition and setup as normal
6> Setup networking over the usb port.
7> Install and enjoy.

Is there anything wrong with this process?

I have setup a fair few openBSD machines before but they are all servers with the whole disk to BSD so this is a semi new process for me.

Thanks

hi! you can resize your partitions and keep the sharp, cacko or open zaurus boot because the ipk install a bootloader
the 3, 4 and 5 step you can do in install script and setup network and other thinks...

The system run ok and I haven't got any error...
I'll downloaded all packages of the ftp site for easy use but, it is no necesary. (recommended because is more fast  )

See you...
Zaurus C3k (spitz)
Running: Cacko 1.23
Kernel: 2.4.20-custom (with hostap driver and tetsu patches)
Dev~: Doing gentoo usable in zaurus and adapting portage for daily use.
