Never use that kind of adapters on your zaurus, the charger circuit is very sensible.

The output of that kind of adapters depends on the AC input, that´s why when it is at 3v it gives you 5v ....
Those only has a little transformer (many outputs selectable) with a diode and a cap, so i do not  recomend you to use it, there is no regulator.

I have tested some cell phone chargers that gives 5.2v DC. Like Samsung and LG litium chagers and they work perfectly with may zaurus C700. This kind of chagers use a circuit to giveyou exactly 5.2v DC no matter the AC voltaje Input (>100vAC).

Never try a nokia charguer because they use a square wave +10v (As i remember the graphic on the Osciloscope) to charge their batts.

General Discussion / Sd Card Problems
« on: May 29, 2006, 02:20:28 pm »
I have a C700 and many SD from kingston and no problems at all.
I have tested 512mb, 256 mb and 128 mb SD without problems.
Except from a 256mb SD that failed but it was replaced by warranty

I think that your SD may be is damage, or in the worst case is a fake SD card, cause i had similar problems with a Sandisk that i bought from a mexican auction and the fact was that it was never maked by Sandisk (i opened it), but it said sandisk on the front, and it was supossed to be a 1gb sd but it had a 512 mb nand chip inside.

I bought a 133x SD card (not kingston, Patriot) and had nothing but problems with it

I'd say steer clear.

Your circuit doesnt need the 7805 reg, you can connect 2 diodes to the power line in order to reduce 1.4v. But...

The usb port is 5v (sometimes 5.2v); you never tested the voltaje dropdown after conecting the Z directly to the usb port, that i think it will give you 5v exactly powering your Z.

And you can connect your Z directly to a PC supply (ony the 5v output).

6 volts will be dangerous to your Z charging circuit.

Now the usb port cant give you more than 500 ma, so i recomend you to buy a external usb hub with its own supply and use it, cause in the case of a short circuit the only thing that will blow out will be your hub and not your pc usb port.

The Sd interface is like a I2C.
You can emulate an SD card, make a program that reads the firts bytes of the SD (sd emulated with a microprocessor like an AVR or Microchip) and these numbers will be your temp. You only need to update these bytes.

The ESSID to "any" does not works.

Write the correct ESSID and try to connect.

And the same thing happens on mi c700 after a reboot with the wifi inside. just remove and reinsert (with the remove icon), and the connection icon will appear.

I opened it and i founded it has a 512mb samsung nand chip.

I ask to Sandisk and they told me that it is a conterfeit item.

I have an idea, you can buy a normal fuse (a cristal fuse) of 630 ma or 500ma (if you dont find the 630ma fuse).
Break the cristal being carefull to dont miss the conductor, then solder both sides of that conductor to your zaurus where the small fuse goes, taking care to dont touch any other pice of metal or circuit around.

I think that can works!!!

I want to inform, that i contacted Sandisk support, and they ask em for pictures of the card, they told me that my Sandisk SD card is a counterfeit item.

here is the reply from Sandisk:

>Based on the information provided, we regret to inform you that you you >purchased a counterfeit item. It is not made by Sandisk and we will not be able >to provide you with support.
>
>We would suggest trying to obtain a refund from the place of purchase.
