Man this is *great* i was thinking what to do next with my Z  , looks like you have made it easy for me.

A little suggestion, you dont have to use a adapter charger you can make yourself a USB charger, just plug it in that ol Pentium and you have saved yourself some place under the seat

no problem shaolin, not so long ago, i was a beginner in Z world
but thanx to good people here ...  now im a solid user

ive got C700 too, my advice flash it to Cacko 1.22 , the best eyecandy and funcionality so far ( PIM sync works  on WIndows and linux) on Win XP, just install intellisync and on your network settings choose Sharpp USB i/o, on linux it is a bit complicated, in time youll get the hang of it!

pop sync works flawlessly but only on outlook, not outlook express, but you can make  a pop account under opie -mail and retrieve mail via BT, irda,Wifi or usb. all in ZUG howtos

i sux for some package installs .

in terminal type ipkg install nameofthepacage.ipk from feed

i got a Qtopia Os on it and i woudlike to customize it a bit .

go to http://my-zaurus.narod.ru/cacko.html - Cacko  site and flash it to cacko 1.22 you wont regret it

im in trouble cuz i have installed pdfviewer and gaim and it workz ...but i have a resolution issue and some icons arent visibile  so it doenst work infact///

the screen say : please wait / and rotate with a strange resolution problem

This happens because you are installing verzions that are compiled for Z5xxx series, just tap and hold the icon until screen appears, uncheck "Magnify" option

coud u tell me if my 700 coud be enough to launch those progz ..

no problrm running it on cacko 1.22 rom - on C700, qpdf and gaim works perfectly

i forgot to ask if it was possible to sync my zaurus with wifi ?

Security and Networking / Wellenreiter Ii, Cacko 1.22 On C700

Ello!

Just one quick question,
i have wellenreiter installed, and works perfectly, but in configure/intrusion tab everything is blacked and i cannot mark anything
( active scanning, fake mac, ty to authenticate ..etc)

These are some really cool features an i would *really* like to use them,  how can i enable them?

i was wondering does cacko have anz news readers (nntp) besides slrn, i have tried to install thunderbird, sucessfull on pdaXrom, but no luck on cacko.

Sounds like you may not have the most current wellenreiter installed. If you installed opie-wellenreiter, remove it and install wellenreiter from the cacko feed. This version includes a wrapper that will run wellenreiter using sudo which will remove the error message you're getting. No need to write your own script or enter cardctl commands in the konsole before running Wellenreiter. Checking the "Run as Root" doesn't work for Wellenreiter.

same problem here, but i have some problems installing from cacko feed can someone send me a copy of new  wellenreiter ( not opie-well..) on my mail, so i can manually install! it would be much appreciated

Start it from the shell, you'll probably get more feedback about what's wrong or missing. Magnification can be unset when you select and hold the icon.

i know abou magnification, but when i star some rom it rotates the screen and exits.

i installed the Z Emu Frontend emulator , and downloaded games but when i start a game it just rotates the screen and exits!

any suggestions?

You'll also get a lot more feedback about what went wrong than qinstall gives

it freezes for about 5 minutes and drops  :
"Tar: Bad tar header, skipping"  - about 1000 times
was the pacage corrup during donwload or?

i have solved the problem!
it seems that i have been usimng the wrong ( windoze) init comand"at+cgd...."
instead of "atz+..." if enyone has similar problems just correct that and be sure to put correct IP addres and acces point after the "atz+cgdcont=1"

i have succesfully connected my C700 to internet via BT with nokia 6600.
but i have lost my CF BT card,  and now i am trying to connect my C700 with nokia to use it as a IR modem.

everything i have tryed didnt work, nokia recognizes and connects to c700 ( i see the indicator ) but when i issue a connection it freezes at initializing.
can aynyone post their configuration so that i can try to debug mine?

The drivers (and pc software) on this page are for 5600, but they work fine for sl-cXXX. Don't try the rom upgrade !!!

this doesnt work for me!!!
