Brian, overall a great report. However I would polish the structure and language up, before publishing it outside of school ( if you want to do that), as it does not sound very professional the way it is now...

Thanks,
Ok, I will see what I can do in that department.  Writing is not one of my strong areas. I have Dyslexia and Dysgaphia so even through i'm good with technology. My language skills are bellow my education level.  I may get my mom to help me edit it. She majored in English.

I am also going to build on the flexibility section because as with him the ability to use it as a development platform was a strong point of me buying it.

Well one thing I did this semester was device analysis in Human Computer Interaction. This is a device analysis I wrote for the SL-5500 I decided before I publish it out on my site yall should read it.

Tell me what you think. If my conclusions are wrong tell me why. I tried to be as unbiased as I could.  I still can add to or brush up the paper. Before I publish it out side of school.

If only a normal user knew how much work and dedication creating a project like OZ takes they could truly admire it for what it is instead of complaining about little bugs. This distribution is targeted towards geeks mostley if your not a geek and complain about little bugs that we expect don't use it.

Like people have already said if you want stability stick with the sharp roms or an stable fork of them.

Oh, believe me, I know, and I always indicate my appreciation when I ask a question on these boards.  Having spent more than a few hours repairing/restoring other folks' computers and generally being Mr. Fix-It on my own time, I understand the Oz/Opie folks' situation.  I also make clothing and leather goods and occasionally turn a wrench or do carpentry.  It's a hobby for me, but I do give my time to other people for help with their decks and their porches and their cars and their kids' halloween costumes.  All I can say to Spam is: "Consider the cost you paid for Oz."  Nothing but a relatively small amount of bandwith (for the download).  They, on the other hand, spent HOURS (weeks and years for the veterans) working on Oz for free.  Oz/Opie is one of the better PDA user interfaces I've seen, and, while there are things I wish it did better, there are things I wished my $500 Palm did better, and Palm/PalmSource rakes in millions a year to do their thing.  So I'd like to take this moment in a rather sordid and un-necessary thread to thank MickeyL, Brian Hurley (if you ARE one of the Oz guys), and all the Oz people for all the stuff they do.  I'd also like to thank LPotter for building Qtopia ROMs and Maslovsky, Stupkid, and Iamasmith for their work on Cacko.

I think the best way to do this will be eaither to find a central meeting place for every one to meet eaither once a year or a month depending on driving distance. It should be a place that has free wifi.    and a place with food.   PS: I live in peach tree city, and work at Clayton State University (Developer/Tech Support) I have a 5500.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Wireless Card Issue (linksys Wcf-12)

For some reason, my new Linksys WCF-12 CF card fails to work in managed/ad-hoc mode.  It works fine for Wellenreiter, but whenever I try to associate with my AP, it claims that the AP's MAC address is 44:44:44:44:44:44 (obviously not the right MAC).  The SSID that I set also appears, but blinks between the SSID and the SSID with a bunch of random characters after it.  If anyone knows how to resolve this, please respond.

Thanks.

I am having the same exact problem.  I can not get it to acess my point no matter what I do I still get weard characters on the essid and i get no conection... cardctl ident sees my card.   I am not happy I asume nothing is wrong with the hardware when the os sees the card and it flasses the lights. My system is open with no wep.

I am going to send the card back because it wont work with sharps 3.13 rom and it should work right out of the box with that rom.
